At 3:41am on Monday morning we had a little &quot;visitor&quot;, more appropriately described as a little &quot;scrote&quot;. We have a Ring camera on the rear of the house, this picked up the said individual walking across from our neighbour&#039;s fence to our rear doors. He tries the handles before he is alerted by the Ring camera light, I suspect he had already tried the patio doors on the rear lounge, the video shows his shadow from the main security light.<br />
A wee bit disconcerting to say the...<br />

We had a conversation at work the other day:<br />

So it begins, the ownership diary for my 2019 MY20 Porsche Carrera 2S (992 gen 1). It’s a two owner car with a shade over 35k on the clock when I collected it from Official Porsche Centre - Portsmouth yesterday.<br />

As previously mentioned (in my &quot;mid-life crisis&quot; thread), I have been looking for a weekend toy, something that is usable as a daily car but also something that is different, fun and will give me the ability to fettle. The 987 Boxster seemed to fit that bill very nicely indeed, settled after a test drive last week.<br />

I’m just looking opinions.  I’ve owned my car for almost 2 years now, bought approved used just shy of 3 years old from BMW.  <br />
<br />
I was installing a Brink tow bar and just had the final connections to tidy away when I found a strange device which I now believe to be a GPS antenna.  I followed the wiring back to a main module hidden under some carpeting.  <br />
<br />
I don’t believe this to be malicious in any way.  I also don’t believe BMW knew anything about it.  It’s most likely a security...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I need to change the inner tie rods on my 2006 E61 5 series.<br />

I am going to do the inner and outer tie rods on both sides even though its just the inner ball joint on the driver side where it connects to the rack that has gone.<br />
<br />
The rack is just a stainless ram - it has no flats to support it when disconnecting or tightening the new inner toe rod into the rack. Putting any pipe clamps on the ram will damage it. Do I just tighten the inner nut up and against the rack and let the internals...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I need to do a wheel bearing on my 2006 E61. Is there really no way to do this without taking half the suspension apart?! Wheel alignments are a right faff so wanted to avoid it but it seems like the only option to do this is to take the strut out completely by unbolting it at the top mount. It all seems excessive for a little old wheel bearing!<br />

Of the aftermarket options available i am leaning to Febi or SKF - the SKF is about 35£ more expensive from Parts In Motion but am thinking they...<br />

Today the amber warning for the steering lock being on came on on the dash with the message about it possibly not starting on the centre display. <br />
<br />
The steering lock comes off fine, the car starts and drives. I charged the battery his afternoon but it doesn&#039;t appear to have changed anything. <br />
<br />
Is there a common fault with this and any potential solutions?<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[After a year and a bit of no M5 I did some bits on the house and pretty much come to an end with that. <br />
<br />
I was looking seriously for an Alpina as felt this could fit the bill for a replacement but few and far between for what I wanted to get. <br />
<br />
So deposit paid on a 2007 S63 AMG L. This car is in silver with black leather interior, 61,000 miles on the clock and three owners from new. Pretty excited and have done some restoration work on the SL and it’s pretty enjoyable restoring an older car...<br />
