In that time it had a liking for tyres - and was approaching another set being required

Other than breaking a coil spring last month it has not needed anything other than routine servicing / tyres / brakes etc.

The replacement is a BMW AUC 6 month old F70 1 series (120 M sport) with 4000 miles from new which is far more suited to her requirements.

Price was about 7k below new price....

Both horns on my 1 series 123D E81 are not working.

The steering wheel switch seems Ok, I can hear a click around the passenger glove box area.

I managed to lower the glove box to gain (very poor!) access to the fuse box. The relays are not on the fuse box? I can't see how to actually remove the glovebox?

I noticed the door lock levers which pop up when you unlock the car go up and down while driving the car on the motorway.

i also noticed the interior fan come on and off it self without pressing the button

last week while driving on a short drive from cold ,the engine fan warning came and then went off itself.

it has since not come on again while driving

see image attached.initial checks ,-coolant level is ok ,and fan blades rotate freely

Thoughts so far;

• Interior must be the best of any small car I've ever been in. Everything is solid and feels premium.
• It's packed with high end technology (I suppose that comes with the cost)
• The new seats are lovely and supportive without being 'too sporty'
• Super light responsive steering, I expect this will thread down a country road beautifully.
• I don't think the 1.5l 3 cylinder engine...

I do a lot of miles and Android Auto is important to me but when I connected it only gave the option for Apple Carplay and nothing for Android Auto.

Is this correct?
It seems bizarre that a car only a few years old would have one but not the other.

It only happens when I start the car up have brought it to be checked there is nothing showing up on the diagnostic and several mechanics don’t have any idea what it could be it used to happen while driving before but that didn’t happen in a long time just when I start the car up now

If anyone has an ideas what it could be it would be great please as it’s really annoying me.

Having an issue with my 123D 2009 204HP 140K miles

While the engine is warming up, the throttle intermittently stops responding at low revs.
It can take over 20 seconds for the revs to build up with the accelerator fully pressed. This loss of power can be dodgy when pulling out of a junction.

Once warmed up the car seems fine with decent torque, so hoping its not turbo related. There are no engine management lights showing. Could it be coolant temp or MAF sensor?

I spotted this on 'trader for potentially a new daily / fast road / occasional track visit.


I noticed the AEM water / meth injection tank in pic 24 and a few other mods i liked the look of. Relatively low miles and boasting something in the region of 400bhp.


I *hate* the pops and bangs part of the map / tune so hoping that this is something that can be mapped out or selected but i ove the wheels, brakes and general look of the car. We won't talk about the sparkly headliner...

probably a mouse chewing up the sponge from the lower section of the air filter box and foam from bottom of air filter .i also found it was storing wheat seeds which probably fell on the lawn from a bird feeder
