For more than 15 years while I have owned an E34 I have lusted over the unicorn rare OEM E32 and E34 centre console CD storage. For those who don’t know it sits where the tape storage is, behind the window buttons and next to the handbrake. As I don’t have a tape headunit I gutted my lidded tape holder and used it as a secret/covered hidey hole. While the CD holders occasionally pop up in black and only black they all seem to be price fixed at around £600 to £700. Well just recently an ultramarine blue CD holder popped up on the bay of dreams at £667 - well beyond even man maths budgets. I was however sufficiently cheesed off at not being able to buy it that I purchased a Fischer Cbox 6 CD holder (the same insert as the OEM item), some 3mm thick sheet plastic and a strip of blue leather - all for just £20.
