    Morning everyone.
Ive just purchased a 2007 530d and it came with the xenon headlights and cornering function. Apart from the outer angel eyes not working i just dont like them.
What headlights can I downgrade to with the minimum amount of fuss?

    Cheers in advance

Probably only other Xenon's without a cornering function, without going into changing wiring, coding a lot of stuff in or out.

So as long as I buy a xenon non cornering set I should be OK?
Has it got to be bi or single xenon?
I dont even know what bulb is used for the cornering tbh.

Anyone got wiring diagram for the headlights connecting pins as I've decided to move from the cornering lights and xenon down to lci halogen.
    TIA

Just did a quick google, assuming yours is a E60? it has said:-
    "
Replacing factory adaptive xenon cornering headlights with halogen units on a 2007 BMW 530d (E60) in the UK is technically complex, a downgrade in light output, and generally discouraged due to wiring, coding, and MOT compliance challenges.
    Key Challenges & Requirements
    • Wiring Differences: Xenon and halogen headlight assemblies use entirely different wiring connectors, pinouts, and power supplies. Xenon systems run through ballasts with high-voltage igniters and dynamic leveling modules, whereas halogens operate on standard 12V H7 circuits. You will need custom adapter harnesses or manual re-pinning.
    • Coding and Error Codes: The BMW Light Module (LM / FRM) is programmed specifically for xenon parameters. Downgrading to halogen will trigger continuous dashboard bulb-out errors (lamp failure detection) and hyper-flashing or disabled functions unless the car's VO (Vehicle Order) is recoded and the light module is reflashed using diagnostic software like NCS Expert or ISTA.
    • MOT and Legality Issues: In the UK, if a car is fitted with HID/xenon headlights from factory that require self-leveling and headlamp washers (standard on E60 xenons), removing them can technically cause an MOT failure if the tester flags missing mandatory automated leveling/washing systems for high-intensity discharge lamps. Furthermore, installing Left-Hand Drive (LHD) halogen replacements (common budget aftermarket units) will point the beam pattern the wrong way for UK roads, causing an immediate MOT failure. You must source Right-Hand Drive (RHD) specific units.
    • Physical Installation: Removing the E60 headlight involves popping the bonnet, removing two top hex bolts, an obscured rear/side bolt, disconnecting the main wiring multiplug, and sliding the unit forward.
    "
Might be worth further investigation before proceeding?

Yeah, quite tricky. But I've already got lci halogen in my pre lci other car. So repinning is not an issue. I was after a heads up of what pins,if any, that I actually need to change or remove. The connecting plugs are the same
I can do the coding afterwards

As you have the only CAN enabled lights, there is no easy way, it's a big job changing wiring to standard setup, having done xenon to AHL xenon, it was a complete pig to do.

OP, are your current xenon and cornering lights working normally (apart from the outer angel eyes as you posted)? If so, wouldn’t it make more sense and be far less hassle to fix the angel eyes than change looms and connectors and then get into coding new lights? Going from xenon to halogen is a big step backwards in lighting.

Also can you confirm which type of car it is so people trying to help have a clue as to whether their advice us pertinent or useful - ie, is it an E60/61 and if it is edit your first post to include that information please.

Oh I think I know what's happening, 2007 car so LCI meaning a single bulb runs both halo rings via a light bar, cheap LED bulbs are not suitable, so stick a standard xenon bulb in each light and they will light up the outer rings again.
I run Osram nightbreaker laser bulbs

Are you saying the choice of headlight or dipped beam bulb can dictate whether the halo ring for that light comes on or not?
An E39 facelift xenon headlight unit has three bulbs. Xenon dipped, halogen main and a single small bulb that lights both halo rings through the light bar.

I don't want to confuse you more, but my 2008 has the Adaptive Bi-Xenon lights. The halo rings use the same bulb for both rings - correct. In mine, I am running the halo with COOL BLUE INTENSE as the standard ones are too yellow compared with the xenon white. With these cool blue, at least you are a bit closer to white.

@GoNz0 - Osram nightbreaker laser bulbs for Halo are still filament yellow? 2700k ?

    Hi guys.
Sorry about not replying sooner. Had my mother in hospital with a bout of double pneumonia. She's all good, or near enough now tho.
So yeah, My thoughts were just to switch my lci halogen lights into my new to me lci 2007 m57 as the new to me car has ahl xenon with cornering, but the angel eyes run off 1 x h8 bulb and look crap. The inner cornering ring is bright for sure, but the outer may aswell be non existent.
