    Disappointing
I'm looking at these with interest for next year, albeit not in hybrid form
There's is a small matter of the gathering of salesman in the local dealer that is deterring me also, they seem intent on selling from stock to clear "their" fleet
Though Mercedes is offering rich pickings and attractive cars just now! Whilst my list is extensive,
The 3 tourer, 5 series, cla, c and ml are all on the "long list"
Though if the O&G industry doesn't stabilise I'll stick with the F07 for another year which is not a bad thing!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you with regards to the industry outlook. It doesn't look at all pretty for the near-term. :(

But as you say, the F07 is hardly a dog to be stuck with! ;)

Have you properly looked at the 3GT? I think you'd find it an enormous step down from the 5GT? I can imagine it's one of those cars you could get nearly new (or new) and be really chuffed with for owning a new car, but then get very tired of it very quickly.

The "industry" has been corrupted by greed, don't see a turnaround until 2017, then things shall stabilise for another 4-5 years, worrying times that I'm sure shall pass.

Yeah I looked at the 3gt but hung up inside, as rightfully said before the interior, should have replicated what was done with the 5gt and perhaps used the 5 series cabin, for the exclusive uplift.
The 3 tourer with performance kit is attractive, albeit with "individual" enhancements can be pleasing

Looking through the range there's so little differences in the cabins (or exteriors) of BMWs now, where other manufacturers are being allowed to get that step ahead

    I'm with you on that.

Although the 1er is great at the moment, I can foresee a time where we need a bit more space. The 5er would always get my vote as the quality of the interior is more like what I expect from a BMW but if I could afford (& justify new) then I can easily see me going down the route of Individual Leather & Extended Leather dash etc. to make the 3er more like the kind of thing I'd prefer to sit in.

Anyway, all a pipedream for the moment.

This thread over on DW doesn't exactly bathe Mercedes Benz Customer Services in a warm glow of satisfaction.

I appreciate contributors here will be looking at/considering a different model range - just saying, if it's indicative of the marque.........:cautious:

Very sickenly interesting and brings back the memoirs of my encounters with Mercedes and that branch prior to f07 purchase, four visits and flaws not rectified, icing on cake was, "no problem sir car is backed by the best warranty" to my response, sir I want my deposit whilst under breath replied, cheeky ginger twat (dealer principle)

Good outcome to a sorry saga. Nice M235i! :)

I think @RickT has had a lucky escape.

But from what I gathered, he's been strung along with promises of the car being delivered month upon month, upon month...........upon month. From what I remember it was supposed to be here in August - latest update was Jan 2016 and that's when he cancelled the order.

Yeah.. thats right... cancelled the merc - below are 2 post giving a summary of the reasons..

Was to be a new owner.... decided over the weekend (back in Sept) that i am now going to cancel.
The car has been delayed now until a Jan build date plus delivery etc, so it will be Feb now i bet, and thats if its not delayed again!!
I ordered the car in March and was told at the start it would be Aug delivery, but then when the order to placed told 10th Sept. Then from that point its not pushed back month by month, now with a build week of 1st week of Jan plus delivery etc..

Car was on a 4year Lease, so BIK is a big factor, and basically MERC are now costing me money. ie - Yr 1 BIK v YR 4 BIK - the difference is £147.28 a month. So every month its late from lets say the Sept date is costing me extra on the end of the lease, so delivery in Feb means £736 extra for me to pay the tax man based on no further delays.

I have also spent some time at the weekend looking into all the options plus speaking to a contact i have who linked my up with a guy who works at dealer at Merc. General thoughts are that i would be hard pushed to get above 45mpg on a distance long run and a usable range of a very max of 15 miles.

The options now are to go for something different, shorter term and more boot space plus a new second car as well.

I think i have made the right choice and may regret it, but if i had ordered from a dealer i would of walked months/weeks ago i think.

Plus, the fact all the Merc Connect me services are disabled is just another negative.

I need to get rid of the E60 at some point, and the prospect of selling it at Xmas is going to be a hassle too !

    Final update post -

    Right -

After finding out that the car would not be here to at mid least Feb 2016 (Ordered March 2015) following build, PDI checks etc and on the basis it did not slip again, it was time to say farewell and vote with my feet !! Order Status - Cancelled (Car was due in Aug, then Sept)

I have had enough with the let down of Mercedes, failed replies to communication and quoted build times, plus the fact my order from March 2015 was going to nearly be 11 months wait time in the end which was still not set in stone.

    Core reasons for cancelling:-
    • Months after ordering found out that "Mercedes Me" would be disabled. (Also having paid for Remote online too and non removal on current price or BIK after finding out disabled,) Impact - Real time battery charge status, remote route planning, preheating on demand and remote charge timing. (in short, all online, mobile phone app connectively, internet, traffic updates via 3g) disabled.)
    • EV range of 19 miles is realistically max 12-14
    • MPG - We all knew it would not be 138mpg due to the testing cycles carried out, but peaking at 35-45mpg on a long run unloaded is far from the quoted figures. (fair enough a 280bhp car the figures are good.) Dread to think MPG on a 4 person up, loaded up and roofbox.
    • Car delayed 5 months further than the 6 already waited.- Sick of waiting.
    • Home charge point price increase of £100 since May quote.
    • MPG concerns over location where I live which can result in routes climbing upto 1000ft from cold, more so with depleted battery.
    • Saloon Boot space
    • Seeing cars ordered after mine been delivered or due before.
    • Mercedes unable to detail the core reason for the delay.
    • Concerns of 4 yr lease with MPG.
    • BIK tax increase in year 4, £147 cost to me per month for everyone late.
Its been a hard choice to make, lot of mixed feelings pros and cons both ways as the C350e is a fantastic package. There are a lot of pros for the C350e as you know.

The plan now moving forward is to get a 2yr lease on "something", i am just going to go for something non comparable and fit for purpose and also replace the Mrs car as well now with a new one.

So - best wishes on the new C350e's guys and I hope those who are waiting get theirs soon and enjoy.

If my lease would of been 2 years, i would of took the gamble i think.

    Very unfortunate Rickt
But I think you have exercised the best and possibly only course of action
Any thoughts on what the replacement " something " may be.

May just order one on a 2 year lease..

That seems rather different from your previous choice, RickT.

What are your most important criteria for choosing a new car?

Thinking if im going to leave the world of saloons, i may as well get a big estate and the Superb is highley spec'ed, plus its only for 2 years...

Simple to chuck the kids bikes in the back, camping gear if needed etc.. plus something different

Quick update - a Skoda Superb estate 2.0 TDI 150 TDI SE Business, was ordered at the start of Nov following the E60 going pop.

    Car due in March.

Currently driving around in a Volvo S40 .6 SE LUX with leather, sat nav, premium sound (sound system is good!) 12 plate pool lead in car till mine arrives plus hire cars as the pool car keeps breaking down! (RAC been out 3 times in 2 weeks) So far had a new Kia Ceed 1.6 (400 miles on it) - very surprised by how good the build quality , Vauxhall Astra SRI - Crap, dodgy fuel needle and only 700 miles on the car, Ford Fiesta for a day - you know what, it was OK and drove fine and got a bigger hire car arriving tomorrow as the Volvo is going back in once again...... then going to choose something else from the pool as the Volvo is a lemon.

Complete change around from the Merc, but looking forward to 660 liters of boot space to the 330 (same as a 1er) on the Merc, loads of room inside and perfect family car for us at this moment. Got the car through work so fully maintained, insured the lot, just put fuel in it and drive it, i could of ordered pretty much anything but each /some cars carry a PUC (personal usage contribution - think of it as a upgrade price per month) but as im never going to own it i have gone for spec v £ v space

Going down the complete practical route

Having just returned from South Korea, I am left astonished at the new models of Kia & Hyundai
The build quality of the executive saloons (Genesis & Sonata) is unbelievable the updated Hyundai Santa Fe is immense the Tucson sport is very fresh whilst Kia offers the soon to be revealed (in the UK Market) and revised Sportage, both manufacturers have good offerings coming to UK next year that may surprise many!
We had daily runs in the Hyundai Limited or limousine should either car come to the UK market they could very well swamp the market, whilst the Kia Carnival limousine is a revelation which would easily switch many owners opinions.
Seeing first hand, both companies have fresh offerings that shall have the Germans and Japanese market worried! Build and ride quality of the new models is exemplary, whilst fresh looks compliment what is otherwise considered poor designs, I foresee many changing opinions of these manufacturers more so considering the market leading manufacturer backed warranties.
