Hi all, Trying to identify an oil leak on my g31 5 series,,seems to pooling down to the bottom tray. All I can see is oil residue and lots of oil on some pipes on the top left of the engine bay. Anyone know if it’s just a case of replacing these pipes ?or is likely caused by something else Attached some pics where I can see some oil on the pipes,Tia
The usual leaks on the B series engines are from the Oil Filter Housing / Cooler, they are made of plastic and tend to distort over time, bit of a pain to replace as the inlet manifold should be removed for replacement. Other common spot is the valve cover gaskets and the BMW Balance Shaft Ends which are easier jobs.
