Well done @The CO ! I know how much you’ve been hankering after one of these for a while now. I can’t say I blame you either - they’re might fine machines and you’ve found a peach there. One of my best mates bought a (L322?) FFRR Supercharged Vogue SE brand new in 2005. He still has it and won’t part with it for the world. It’s caused him astonishingly few problems in all the time he’s had it and it still looks and feels the part all these years later. Good luck with yours. Love how the fleet is developing!
Sounds good. Wouldn’t want to break what is now becoming a habit! I’m going car shopping myself this weekend.
Wow it looks great. Is the colour Bojo - sure I saw our esteemed leader get into one today that looked just like yours
Well done CO, what a lovely interior, I hope it is as comfortable as it looks. Like many of the cars on here it's way out of my league, but I still like reading about them. Anyway, regarding the three features you mentioned, my 2er has those ones but I wouldn't miss them : 1) Panoramic roof - only opened it twice, once to see how it worked & secondly to clean it out properly. 2) Hud - again used it once or twice, but not really needed for my journeys. 3) Adaptive CC - really thought I'd love it, but in practice I just prefer 'normal' CC & anticipate more. Now I've done the high spec thing and for once had a car with every possible option ticked (apart from heated seats (grrr) & adaptive dampers), the next car will be the one that I 'feel' is right regardless of exact spec, just like this new RR felt the right car to you when you viewed it.
I think a lot of people get hug up on lots options that tbh are not really needed - I have a Panoramic roof on our X3 but have not really ever used it, HUD I had on a hire car but could take or leave it, features such as adaptive CC and lane departure warning etc. don't add much for me and is just more to go wrong. Heated seats though are great.....!!!
It did, it did. The journey home was sublime. I've driven FFRRs before but I'd forgotten how wonderful the ride is, quite extraordinary really. Should probably start another ownership thread, hopefully it won't be as painful a start as the RRS was.
They generally say that once you’ve driven the full fatty Range Rover, nothing comes close to it! Keep us updated on the ownership. Would be particularly interested to hear about maintenance and other running costs etc
I've no idea why the previous (private) owner spent many thousands on options but didn't pick heated seats. Sales chap agreed it was the oddest thing he'd ever seen for a long time. Oh and I've never even tried the automatic reverse parking mode.... (Sorry for thread drift CO)
If you'd asked me ten years whether I needed any of this stuff I'd have dismissed it all instantly. Trouble is, I'm used to it all now and some of it is very useful when tooling around Europe. I fiddled a bit with the Intelligent Speed Limiter yesterday and when it started to go awry (RTFM) the first place I looked was the windscreen for the HUD info. D'oh.
Nice one. We’ve had our Supercharged L322 since 2007 and it’s got a FLRSH now on its second service book. All from the original supplying dealer. It’s currently sat outside with a failed battery which I’m waiting to sort. 125,000 miles from new and I’m on the fence about changing it. It’s still relatively quick, but every time I see a new one I hanker after it. Not sure how I’d feel about filling the back of a new one with logs and going to the tip with the back full of rubbish though… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
