WTF! AB post code circa £210 no tracker with direct line (limited realistic mileage with wife on the cover and low excess)
can't do the limited mileage so i am around 12K per year which makes it a bit more expensive, i used to have 6k limited on my policy and that made it a lot cheaper but in the last couple of years i have been using the car a bit more i have put nearly 40K on the 5er in three and a half years of ownership i have gone with the quote i received of £339.00 and i have added NCD protected and legal protection which bumped it up a bit but it is paid for now so another bit of the jigsaw in place, I guess i will keep the co-op insurance website book marked in case i ever buy a beige Fiesta
thread resurrection alert well after four years and four months with my 2015 530D 5 GT our time together is nearly over and the car is being traded in next week l have really enjoyed my time in the 5GT and have never once regretted buying it and l have had many happy hours behind the wheel of this car. l know many people didn't like the looks and said it was ugly and every motoring jurno that reviewed it gave it a poor review but l really grew to love the car and found it very versatile and very practical the car will have covered around 45200 miles by the time l drop it at the dealers next week. so it is still a very nice low Miles example of the 5GT and l hope the new owner enjoys it as much as have
As you probably know I’ve always liked both the concept and (dare I say it) the styling of the GT. Particularly its interior. Seriously considered one for our family but in the end decided on a 5 Touring because the physical size of the GT was just a little too generous for my urban surroundings. The big question @mach one is of course... what’s next for you?
the answer to that question is A 2019 BMW 6 GT 640i xDrive M Sport. with 3000 miles from new. so l am staying loyal to the concept and the styling of the GT l keep telling myself it is only 100mm longer than the 5 GT it will be fine
Definitely prefer the lines and flow on your soon to be new GT. Very smart looking machine, I don’t think I have seen one in the steel. And a great engine to go with it.
you may have seen one on the motorway but not registered what it is. today l did about 300 motorway miles and l saw 2 5gt's one 3gt and two white 6gt's but then l was GT spotting. l saw quite a few 4 series but only one 440i. and the 440i gran coupe was a car that l looked at in my quest to downsize but l failed miserably on that front and bought a Bigger car
They are very nice and quite a step up from the 5gt From my short viewing, I thought the plastics were that bit thinner and appear more fragile though more than made up by the leap in technology Never driven one though can only assume the petrol power plant will please with both performance and refinement Enjoy!
the only bit of plastic that l noticed that seem to be a bit flimsy was the cover that goes over the cup holders and the wireless charging pad for your phone or for the display key that this car does not have anyway l was pulling at it trying to close it and thought that's a bit flimsy but if you push it away from you it glides closed by itself so all l would have done by pulling at it is to break it. all the dash and door caps are finished in sensatec and has the blue contrast stitching the guy that placed the wireless charging pad must have shares in apple because you put your £1000.00 l Phone on charging pad and then when you go to grab your Starbucks and fumble it you cover your l Phone with coffee so not a great place for it to be
The boot designs appears to have changed, where the parcel shelve remain in place when the boot is opened Trying to lift the shelve, certainly gets the eyes popping out the head Though undeniably the interior is a very nice place to sit that compliments the exterior very well..... With car next car change off the horizon, The 6Gt is certainly a contender along with a few other undesirables

the hatch is still the same as the 5GT where half of the parcel shelf is on the tailgate and lifts out of the way and the other half of the shelf is fixed up to the rear seat back both halves of the shelf are removable and can be stored under the boot floor
Congrats on the new car. I was always sold on the 5GT concept but could never get my head around the depreciation. The 6GT takes the styling up a notch and I’ve fawned over a couple in that colour scheme at my local dealer. Enjoy the new motor and especially that peach of a petrol unit.
My 5GT had lost a good chunk of change before l bought it with around eight thousand miles on the clock. so the depreciation during my ownership was not to eye watering at around 3k per annum and l would accept that on most BMW platforms l was really looking to downsize to a smaller car and was looking at the new 3 series in the 340i variant but the prices of that car were very strong and l have just bought a very well specced 640i GT xDrive M Sport with 3k miles from new for less money than l would have paid for a similar spec G20 3 series
My last ever image of my 5 GT that shot was taken at Warwick services about two and a half hours into our last journey together. by 9.30 am this morning the keys had been handed to the dealer and the car is now looking for a new home
