    What's on?

Feel free to post details of events you are going to be taking part in - or watching.

Here's my pick to get this topic underway:

The GT Series gets off to a start today with the Blancpain Series at Zolder in The Netherlands.

Watch all the practice sessions and the races live on youtube - check for upcoming live streams:

I will spend the morning with the BTCC on and then later switch betwee the F1 and the BTCC all from the comfort of my recliner, and i will try not to take a nap and miss any of the action

a few years ago i would have been on the road at 5.00am heading for Brands, breakfast stop at Watford gap and on the the circuit, parked up in a back lane near to the paddock entrance and into the circuit and set up for the day around paddock hill bend, they were long but enjoyable days made even beter when the sun shines

I would be equipped with my old Nikon SLR and two rolls of 36 exposure film to last the day, bit of a difference to today when i have a DSLR that will machine gun around 10 frames per second, at that rate i would have had about 7 seconds of shooting back in the late 80,s early 90,s

Have to admit, today's Bahrain F1 race was one the best I've seen in a long time.

Enjoyed the F1 race, think Bahrain has always been good since it became a night race!

I did my first race of the season at Snetterton on Saturday, so enjoyed that a lot as well (y)

This weekend we have the first DTM races of the 2018 season - at Hockenheim - today and tomorrow.

    Watch live on youtube:

You'll get the practice laps and race qualifying too.

Timo Glock in the Deutsche Post BMW M4 Car 16 was fastest this morning.

I believe it's also possible to watch on BT Sport.

We also have the BlancpainGT Series at Brands Hatch.

    That's also on youtube:

And don't forget the 6 hours of Spa:

    https://www.fiawec.com/en/live

and on motorsportTV on Sky channel 429 - although not all of the 6 hours.

Brands is not the best track in the UK for pictures and the area where we will be for most of the day is along the start finish straight and around paddock hill bend and there is lots of very high catch fencing, out on the grand Prix loop that used to offer good unrestricted views for pictures they have now put up extra catch fencing for safety and it has not been popular with the fans that used to frequent that side of the circuit

but this day and age crowd safety is paramount
