Hi. Had the car in for a bit of a spruce up...that'll be remove every trace of rust that can be found and replace with new metal before prepping and painting and then send the parallel wheels off to have them refurbed and diamond cut. Wheels were excellent so I decided to ceramic coat them when they came back....weather's too bad now to put them on so I've put the style 33 winter wheels and tyres on for now and yes I had them refurbed too whilst I was at it
Looks great, good to see some love for the E39, I owned four of them when they were reasonably new, one had the parallel wheels that you have.
Yep...I owned a 523 SE back in 2002 and I always missed missed it...had all sorts since that one, X5, 3 series cab, 535D M sport, 3 x 7 series, and more recently a Range Rover (huge mistake) but I always missed the E39 so I got rid of the RR and bought 2 E39s...I've never been happier Have 3 sets of wheels the ones on the car whilst it was being refurbed are from the tourer (aka the dog car)
Nice!! You'll find lots of us have a soft spot for the e39s - arguably one of BMW's best models ever.
Lovely Champagne I you have there. Makes me miss my 530i Individual which had a Champagne interior and Poplar wood trim, but was Orient Blue. It had virtually every extra bar a sunroof, and active Comfort seats.
A company I worked at bought 3 E39 525d when the BIK dropped the 18k rule, replaced GS300 lexus's and an S Type. Really decent cars, and always had a good stance/look. One of the guys kept the car for a number of years after the company closed and until he retired. Probably the cars still out there 16 years later. Thanks for the pics, is that a Porsche on the lift ?
Very nice! The E39 is a design which wears its years well IMHO. Good to see one being so well looked-after.
I think it's great that you're putting in this level of TLC into the E39, the Champagne Edition was always special and deserves it. Agreed re the E39 being one of the best BMWs ever made. Modern efforts pale in comparison. The M Paras look superb. Enjoy Sent from my Note8 using Tapatalk
Yes I agree.....the car really looks quite plane with the turbine alloys on.....if the weather stays good this weekend I'll pop the parallels on and take some pics for the classic ins valuation.
Looks great, E39's were wonderful so far ahead of everyone else in their day, superb build quality and so classy - still miss mine...
