Stumbled across this forum, looking for an active(ish) forum incase I run into any issues. Bought the car and picked it up last week and its having to go back in tomorrow as the washer jet pump has failed, according to them. Prior to me picking it up, I had asked for it to be put through a service, MOT and refurbed all 4 alloys or I wasn't buying it. They agreed, so last Monday it was put through its MOT which it failed on:- Major Nearside Front Position lamp not working side light inop (4.2.1 (a)) Windscreen washer not working (3.5 (a)) then Wednesday it passed its MOT and picked up Wednesday night, hadn't needed to use my washerjets since it was a clear night and hadn't really got the chance to run the car since I had a lot on that night. They have took the car in and have advised me that the washer jet pump needs replaced? Now, I think they've done the re-test and haven't bothered doing it properly. What would you guys do in this situation? P.s. I love the car lol
Hello and welcome. I would suggest that you let them repair the car as stated, then give it a thorough going over to check all issues are sorted. Is there a warranty period with the car?
Usually the washer pump fails because it sits at the bottom of the reservoir where all the crud collects. So the reservoir needs cleaning out when the pump's replaced...
They probably managed to get the washer jets working for the MOT retest, like Johnny says usual problem is in the reservoir - bit fiddly to clean out as you have to remove the inner wheel arch liner....but they'll have to do that anyway to replace the pump so should get sorted.... Minor issue really so I would be happy as long as they sorted it....
Replaced and washer jets working once again. First purchase was my BMW Performance mats and looking at getting new headlamps. Just trying to justify the costs for new ones though, not the xenon ones though... Thats an eye watering amount
Bought it at 65,900 (2013 plate) and manual. Hopefully get the headlights fitted by end of week, got these headlights.
