Garage clean up

The time had came, the days and nights were/cold, so what better time to clean up the garage
Fortunately no before pictures
A coat or two of masonry painted and several coats of emulsion to use up old tins


A bit of cheap framing for storage
I would say fast forward, however realistically many labourious cold spent hours
Several packs of plastic cladding, redundant framings, a couple of spot lights, a penny floor and a couple of el cheapo storage units
The bike shed was created



Doors hide a multitude of sins


The last of the lights went in today, just need a purposeful use!

 

I am envious!
Just about cleared all the kitchen debris out of mine. Needs a massive clean up and sort out. You may have just spurred me on.

This was mine a few weeks ago......

Looking good Sean but you should have been clearing the garage out to fit the car in so it was undercover whilst you are away with work then you first day at home could be driving the car rather than cleaning the car

looks good as a bike storage/workshop though you have done a tidy job

 

It’s one thing clearing and painting, it’s another keeping it that way... time shall tell

Not sure if it would even fit, the last car I had in was the 5 series saloon and recall it’s a struggle to get it in and then get out....
The benefit of white cars, they never really look dirty (who am I kidding) after three weeks of absence, the first wash is relatively easy, to date , the only protection is Sonax BSD, a quick snow foam soak and pressure wash leaves little residue!

l rent a lock up garage that is about 150 mts away from the house and my car would not go anywhere near it. the 5 GT is to wide and to long for it so the garage is full of very important things that are far to precious to throw away. they haven't seen the light of day for years so are obviously no longer required but l need them

That’s the worst of it, pointless crap is always needed after it’s gone, in the house we’re minimalist, albeit little 5hit kept in garage, sold the trailer and cross trainer so thought I’d transform the space and see how long it stays empty.....
Sheds next, Tent, garden furniture, wife’s Bike, cycle carrier and a lawnmower, the rest is destined for the the skip!

With a bit of organising, the crap can be stored neatly, under the up and over door, I’ve got multiple bits of junk that’s seldom used, two sets of roof bars, a roof box an OEM Mercedes grill & rear bumper support beam with obligatory camping gear, all stuff that’s seldom used but that would be much missed...

 

l have a trailer that l used to transport all the camping gear for our family holidays l haven't had a tow bar on any of my cars for the last seven years so shows how much l need a bloody trailer
this year l am gong to put up a new shed in the garden and the lock up is going as it is costing £500.00 a year to store crap that l no longer need to keep so it is time for it all to go

the new shed is 15 ft by 12 ft and will be for bikes and mowers and the like so most of the stuff in the garage will be gone

 

Make it bigger if you can, you'll easily have it filled without realising 'stuff' is creeping up on you.

Burn it - if she finds it, it'll be presented to you again in its entirety.

By burning, with luck she'll have forgotten at least a % of what was on it when it comes to the rewrite. If not, it gives you a base from which to 'discuss' the contents......

 

The trouble with that is, she might produce an even longer list. She also has an extremely annoying habit when I'm actually doing a job, of mentioning something completely unrelated that also needs my attention.
