Definitely a 'Yes' from me. Had a flat on my run flats in my Z3, boot and passenger seat full so nowhere to put the 18" MV3. Not a harsh ride and she's lowered by 30mm. They're a life saver when you have no room to put the flat and who wants to get to the garage on a space saver.

I’ve been planning on swapping the RFTs on my E92 when they wear out, but the more I read things like this the more I’m changing my mind.
The Bridgestones were brand new all round in Sept when I bought the car, 10K later and they all still show 7mm, so not exactly wearing quickly. However, the price is a little eye watering for replacement RFTs, will need to shop around!

@Wynne71 - being a Scottish person I spent some time shopping around.

Prices can vary enormously - but run-flats are not that much more expensive.

I recently bought 255/45 18 rear ContiSportContact 5 run-flats at £169 each - that's only £10 dearer than the conventional version - but that's still £15 cheaper than the horrid Bridgestone RFs. :D

They are currently sitting in my garage ready to fit next month - I got them from Camskill - fresh stock only 2 weeks out of the factory. My local firtter charges only £7.50 for fitting.

The fronts are £127 each - only £10 dearer than the conventional non RFs - but £20 cheaper than the Bridgestones.

    Happy hunting.

Surprised you could have got the flat in a Z3 as no way will one of my Split Rims fit in,I even have the White Bag to put the tyre/wheel in.

I run the 2.2 Sport lowered 30mm as standard, restricted access for the jack.

Out of interest which wheels are you running , as I am not aware any Z3 had RoF rims fitted.

This is a concern I have when out with Z3 ,2 large cans of Gung in boot , Space Saver spare but nowhere to put the flat tyre.

At present I have standard tyres on the X1 [Bought it with 2000 miles on clock] but will change over to RoF soon , getting fed up with the noise levels on the Bridgestones

My wife's E92 is on RFTs and I guess it will stay that way for the duration of ownership. They are 225/45/17 Continentals and my only complaint is the tyre noise has increased now they are down to about 4.5mm tread depth. Price is good, currently about £80 each from Camskill.

However, when I bought my F10, the first thing I did was buy a space saver spare and when the time came to buy new tyres I went for Uniroyal Rainsports. The money I saved by not going for RFTs more or less offset the cost of the spare and jacking kit. The spare has been used only twice in over six years of ownership, the first time I was 125 mile from home, and I'm not confident I would have made it on a modern RFT. Bloody boring driving 125 miles at 50mph though!

A few years ago I had a puncture on the M6 at peak traffic hours-- changed front off side to the space saver and proceeded.
It was scary doing 50 mph in the inside lane with lorry S doing around 56-60 after having to swap wheels against the traffic.
I got off at the next junction, never so relieved in my life.

Every day is a school day...
I thought I was blessed with run flats, I’m not - regular tyres giving silky smooth commutes
A can of 5hit in the boot and a compressor....

Now I have to get a spare p!

    It’s a yes from me.

Although I have contemplated non-rfts, since I really like my ride to be as smooth as possible, I feel safety and convenience takes precedence.

Sure, but maybe there is some kind of setting that automatically adds them after every sentence or few words...
