They are indeed. I'd be lost without mine. You get the point I'm sure, cost cutting in vehicle materials amd sharing across platforms has become the norm; which has resulted in lixury cars feeling 'cheap' and not worth their price tags. I think I'll stick to pre 2002 BMWs Current: E60 530D E38 750i Individual | Oxford Green E38 750iL Individual | Sorrentbleu Sent from my Samsung Note 10+ 5G using Tapatalk
Agree that they aren’t what they used to be, and the move to being volume manufacturing by bmw and Mercedes hasn’t helped. But thinking back to my 1990 E30 318iS, I might forego a bit of luxury build for a radio. Or remote locking. Or an alarm. And when I get in my 2019 5 series, the tech is amazing, the drive is amazing, and it feels decent quality. Not worth the list price though...
Completely agree re the technological advancements. That is one thing, among many others of course, that BMW are getting right and appear to be miles above others in interface quality and ergonomic design. Don't talk to me about Auditors !! (in Banking they were known as 'Inspectors'). They would arrive unannounced and take control of the Branch, hold on to safe and strongroom keys and burrow into everything - right down to the postages . Complete disruption of routine.
