Ohhhh, no [Churchill dog voice] @Verbarthe will tell you all about his new one, and a beauty she is too.
Welcome ‘back’. I see you’ve found a convenient place to park. Straight from your front door into the car.
Nahh Rick , got myself a 435i Convertible now . http://www.bmwland.org.uk/index.php?threads/that-was-the-week-that-was.1487/
Still miss mine a bit as well Rick but nothing lasts for ever mate , and the 435i more than makes up for it . Am envious of the MPG you get from the Honda though
Yes, can't keep away. Had the 535i for over 7-years and starting to think seriously about the next car. Going to be a hard act to follow. I'm certainly interested in the hybrid options. Would like to know a bit more on how your model is doing in the real world. Something like the BMW 330e 'could' work in my driving, the plug-in part being essential, to get some worthwhile gains on electric range. Not yet totally convinced it is the time to go PHEV, but am leaning that way. Peter
I was tempted with the phev but decided to go hybrid due to us taking quite a few long distance driving holidays. When I come to change in 2.5 years I may very well go phev, or even full electric, depending on how the charging infrastructure and battery technology develops. Using the hybrid day to day for school runs and shopping etc (short urban and hill driving) I get around 47.5 to 53 mpg. On a long holiday run I can get over 80 mpg. I went for the top model so got all the toys and I'm very impressed with the car overall. I understand if you go electric or phev you can get a government grant towards a home charging station too.
