Hi, So I took the car in last year to a BMW dealership for a service and was advised they hadn’t been able to reset the vehicle check light but would get it next time. Then recently I took it in again for another service and was told that they would need to run a full diagnostic to determine the fault as it wasn’t re-setting. I asked them to leave it for the time. I tried to do a manual reset but that just keeps saying reset unsuccessful. Then today the car went in for new rear pads at the dealership and I note they haven’t reset the break pad light. Again a manual reset hasn’t worked. I am going to give them a call on Monday and ask why it wasn’t reset but I suspect I will be told I need a diagnostic again before they determine what they are going to do as it won’t reset. I thought I would ask if there was any other option available to me before I make the call? I have managed to access the hidden menu and note there is a factory reset option but not sure if this will help or lead to further problems? Thanks for any advice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you for the welcome and apologies I hadn’t listed the car details; it’s a 520d 2012 model. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I could be entirely wrong, however there was a member with similar traits I believe the resolve was a complete reinstall of the drive software...... Check in the 5 series threads I believe it may be this one albeit G series, though do recall F11/10’s also have problem https://www.bmwland.org.uk/index.php?threads/520d-g-series-service-reset.2714/
