Sorry for the late reply, so i bought the car in the end, had it a month now, very impressed with it. I've added the BMW Comprehensive warranty to the car which started last week (had a one month delay before starting as it was out of warranty), so that's good for peace of mind.

Overall it is a very very quick car, but just drives so effortlessly, the variable damper control is a nice touch, stiffens the car up nicely, but i generally leave it in comfort, overall very happy with it, and it has just ticked over to 44,000 miles :)

Thank you to everyone for the links, help and advice, i'm sure i will be on here a lot more now, only modifications done so far are new wheel caps as the old ones were knackered, other than that the alloys will be refurbished once the tires are worn out (they are nearly new so hopefully will be a while)

Next will be...........what are the best cleaning products to keep a black car looking clean :rofll::rofll:

That looks fantastic. Uber understated, only those in the know would have an inkling what is under the bonnet!

    Now, that IS nice!! (y)

For the 'keeping clean' bit , get over to Detailing World for a wealth of knowledge & info - just make sure the lock is firmly closed on your wallet. :D

After having a few BLACK cars I believe the best option is a respray to a different colour. No car ever looks as good as a freshly detailed Black car , its just keeping it in that condition.

Lovely car, enjoy the V8. Noticed the Fitzpatrick referrals sign in your pics. Is this to do with the vet Noel Fitzpatrick? Watched a few programmes on his work and he is a bloomin genius!!

    Enjoy the V8!!

The 550i had some nice bits as part of the standard spec, that were optional on other models, eg 4 zone climate control

Someone as OCD as me will know that it is a 550i because of the shape of the tailpipes which are unique to the V8, Looks great!!

Yes indeed they are, but there was an option to upgrade the 535i accordingly IIRC.

Such a shame that we never took this model to heart. I do regret not buying one when I bought my 535i from new.
