Hi guys no too happy with this 330d I’ve just bought a few days ago....bit disappointing...but the main question a want to ask ...shouldn’t the “big “ sized wheels / tyres be on the rear . Set up is 255/40/18. Rear 255/45/18 Front. ed.
A staggered set up would give the wider rears, mine has 255 at the rear and 235 at the front (I think). I’d have assumed the F30 wouldn’t have a staggered, my 2013 320i xDrive definitely didn’t. Why are you disappointed? In the performance or the condition of the car?
535i. Yes Msport Wynne....car in great condition but spec pretty poor in the cab . can u confirm that the wheel set up is wrong ...before a get on this phone to the dealer . ed
If the tyre sizes are the same width, the profile should not different. However, a staggered set up is pretty standard on the M Sport models. 235 front, 255 rear. In which case different profiles are normal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@Ers51 I'd have expected the profile to be the same, even with different widths on a staggered setup - I'm no expert mind you. Shame you're unhappy with the interior spec, do you reckon you'll grow to like it?
Ok, it looks like this is the OEM fitment: PIRELLI P Zero PZ4 SC front: 225/45R18 95Y XL £111 rear: 255/40R18 99Y XL £140
Definitely wrong tyre size on the front, hopefully it’s just the wrong width tyres and not wrong width wheels. The sticker on the b pillar when you open the door will give the correct tyre sizes and state when the size is specific to front or rear. The wheel width is stamped on the inside of 1 of the spokes but so is the last 7 digits of the part number but not that easy to access without removing a wheel. Also, given that it is going to be either 225 or 235 width on the front, a 255 would make the tyre 10mm wider on the inside and outside so if the wheel size is correct I’d expect the tyre to look wider on the wheel than the rears, of it looks the same then it’s likely got the wrong wheels.
Yep, my money is on it have four rear wheels. I would be wondering why it needed new front wheels in that case.
Put your reg in to mytyres or similar and it will give you the expected tyre sizes. But yes, always staggered on sports, unless previous owner has gone for a square setup that seems somewhat popular with a few E46 M3 owners for some reason.
Thats what I did to get the quoted sizes above PIRELLI P Zero PZ4 SC front: 225/45R18 95Y XL £111 rear: 255/40R18 99Y XL £140
There seems to be quite a but of confusion and differing sizes quoted. This is what my car - an F30 LCI 330d M-Sport - left the factory with: Front: 225/45 18 91Y on 8x18 rims Rear: 255/40 18 95Y on 8.5x18 rims The wheels are style 400 and there is an obvious difference in width when you look in between the spokes. https://www.auto-treff.com/wcf/index.php?article/399-styling-400/ @Ers51 - are you absolutely sure that you have 255/45 18s on the front and not 225/45 18s?
A huge SORRY guys tyres sizes are in fact correct 225/45/18. Front 255/40/18 Rear Can only apologise to everyone who posted for wasting your time ...don’t quite know how I misread them this morning. BUT this I’m SURE of Continental and Goodyear on same axle front and rear and of course it’s not a case of just swapping over because of wheel/ tyre size difference ..comments ? ed.
hi 535i thanks for replying...can I take it from your Okay that you’d not be unduly worried about different brand tyres on same axle cheers. ed.
Sorry, actually I am terribly anal about that sort of thing. Would want the same on all 4 corners. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
