All, I'm planning to remove my electric memory drivers seat from my 3 series GT for repairs and replace it with the passenger seat for 48hrs so that I can return home from the upholsterer's and obviously return to get the seat back as leaving the car is not an option as no way of getting home ( they are in the middle of know where). According to realoem neither seats contain airbags so other than seatbelt error / memory seat error codes etc (which I can reset) can anyone advise of any other issues I may need to look out for? I don't intend to disconnect the battery for seat removal as I can reset codes anyways and in the past have found it more painful when the car powers back up. I understand it is just 4 bolts & a couple of connectors....correct? All advice / guidance / experience very welcome as always. Thank you Rgds Peter
Other than this small issue is there anything else I need to be aware of in removing the seat ? Thanks
Are you connecting the looms to the seat or leaving them disconnected? The belt buckle wiring will ideally need to be connected but that’s possibly in a separate little plug. Is there absolutely nobody who can give you a lift/taxi?
Another thought, quite often on the seat rails the inner rail is longer than the outer rail so the holes wouldn’t line up when the wrong side seat is fitted. is there any seats for sale that you could buy then resell afterwards?
Some good points need to re think or try and arrange a lift somehow....maybe a cab but it's quite a long way Thanks all!
