Congrats Ian! Sounds like a real result!

With all due respect to the diesel MacanS, there’s no competition between the two. The petrol power plant is so special, it’s like a completely different car. Add to that the GTS handling dynamics, even if there were any hint of concern about the change, one drive and you’ll be hooked and won’t even notice the diesel heading off on Tuesday.

Not really had much time today to take photos, but went to the shops and to the in-laws for dinner. First thing I noticed was the instant throttle response and lack of low down torque compared to the diesel. Not really had chance to wind it up yet on these roads but I am not disappointed.
Spotted a couple of biggish scratches on the leather dash and one of the rear door cards, not too bad but Cazoo should have disclosed them, so I will be on the phone to them tomorrow. Otherwise, the bodywork looks great for a 4 year old car.

Couple of quick pictures when I left the house earlier:

That is the plan, but they won't give you warranty until you've owned it for three months. I have the RAC warranty that came with it in the meantime.

Not been around for a while as had COVID and managed to pass it onto the whole family, so we were stuck in doors for three weeks, but hey ho, we are all well now.
    So, I had the car in for stage 2 paintwork correction at GVE in Uxbridge, they also painted a couple of stone chips and resprayed the roof rails (which Cazoo paid for) as they were damaged. Then I had Gtechniq ceramic coating including the windows and wheels. I also had the interior deep cleaned and the alcantara steering wheel/gear stick freshened up. It looks fantastic now;
    pxl_20211211_120156193.jpg pxl_20211211_120305474.jpg side blades compressed.jpg pxl_20211211_120525655.jpg pxl_20211211_120224452.mp.jpg

However, I had the car booked into Porsche today for pre warranty inspection and I was presented with a quote for £5k to fix an oil leak from an oil seal at the front of the engine. They showed me a video and it looks like the crank or balancer shaft seal. I am waiting for them to send me the video so I can have a better look.
So, as I’ve only had the car for 7 weeks and I’ve been isolating for three weeks and it was at the detailers for two weeks, I feel it’s unfair that I should be presented with this issue only 400 miles into ownership. I will be phoning Cazoo tomorrow to see what they offer me. The car has 90 days RAC warranty, but I doubt that covers oil leaks? We’ll see.

    Happy New Year everyone.

    Happy new year.

Sounds like a sales of good issue to me, hopefully they’ll do the right thing and put it right.

How much! £5,000 to fix an oil leak! The price of Porsche ownership is not cheap.
I hope that they stump up the cost @kleynie.

    Good luck. (y)

    Good grief!

Looks amazing in red, especially after the detail.

Do you think the oil leak was the reason it was passed through Cazoo? Sneaky way of off-loading an expensive fix.
100% they should be paying for the fix, completely unacceptable after 400 miles.

    Good luck.

Don’t worry about the 90 day warranty. Cazoo have to cover it as it has occurred within the first 6 months under consumer rights act 2015. If they refuse, get the work done and take them to court where you will win hands down. Put it all on writing to them so you have proof of when you contacted them etc…

    Car looks good though

Yes, the car was serviced late May and then passed onto auction shortly after. Cazoo supposedly did a 300 point check ‘for peace of mind’ before sale.
As it’s a one owner car, I definitely think the owner knew about this.

Always suspicious when something like this happens. Hope the 'warranty' gets it sorted, without too much hassle.

    Oh me!
That is terrible, glad you’ve all put COVID behind you’s
RE The oil leak, that’s shit!
Do hope you get it sorted under warranty / consumer protection, otherwise the only sensible option has to be exercised!

I took this up with Cazoo today and they offered my money back. Trouble is I've now spent £2k on detailing and £630 for the service/inspection yesterday and I will lose that. Also there are no other GTS's for sale with similar spec in my price range. So they have agreed to get a formal quote from Porsche and take it from there.

There customer service seems good so far, time will tell.

Thanks all for your replies and kind words.
    Ian

Sounds like they're playing ball which is good, bloody annoying though. Seems that none of us can buy a car, any car, without needing some sort of remedial work.

I’m keeping quiet about my F32…..perfect so far.

Does sound as though they are doing the right thing, which should be good news, as long as they follow up and complete the repair. I’m sure they must have their own insurance to cope with these events.
