630 GT cold weather issues?

When you say code it, what does this mean?

 

You can plug in with the correct equipment and code certain functions on/off etc like stop start, folding mirrors, auto tail gate closing etc

 

Many have tried but with no success... both here and in the States including recognised tuning co's

EDIT: To correct my earlier post #7 on startup the engine defaults to 'Efficient' but steering and suspension both default to Sport instead of Comfort. It's these steering and suspension defaults that no one has figured out how to change. Most people including myself set the M1 memory button to Efficient/Comfort/Comfort

what is the default on start mode for your car

the 640i 6GT was always in comfort on start so l would run the car up to temperature before switching to sport. l don't think l ever put the car in Eco plus ever but used sport very occasionally

 

Update on the above.
I took the car into the dealer yesterday. Ambient was 3c when I started. Unable to select driving mode.
Dealer (Rybrook) couldn't replicate the problem yesterday, so kept the car overnight.
1c this morning and no fault found. They have done a software update, and asked me to monitor.
I'm not confident that this issue is fixed. It is not a disaster, but irritating. I like the Economy mode when it is icy, as you have less chance of wheel slip under throttle.
They have reprogrammed the MoT due date, as this was wrong.

Jury out but I'm not confident.

Perhaps worth trying to video what happens and then show it to the dealer...ask if you can speak to the "Master / senior technician" and show him. Ive done this on a couple of occasions

 

Thanks, yes I did see the Senior Techie. He's a good sort, and been receptive in the past. Good suggestion with the video, however, there really isn't much to show? I try to select the mode, and get no response. Will just have to monitor for now. in reality, the ambient will warm up soon, and it won'tbe a problem..........until next winter.......when the car will be out of warranty.

 

I would do a video showing
Sitting in drivers seat
Pressing ignition (and what is on the dashboard / i drive
Trying to select economy mode and not being able to
Whilst doing that video the I drive and dashboard lights again

It will show there is a problem and that you have reported it to the dealership within warranty and they are unable to resolve it
Also ask them to raise it an issue with BMW technical in Germany

Tested this morning at 2C. Selector worked as normal. Maybe the software/firmware update has done the trick?
