The Active Tourer appears to be coming popular up here, see lots of them.

May be a 'holiday' influenced bias, seeing them in the Highlands, but they are out there all the same.

    Anyone else noticing them?

Not seen many on my travels, I have to admit. Do like it from an optical point of view.

Seen a couple around here in Essex and saw another up in Telford last weekend.

Chap at work has just bought one for his Mum and really rates it. High praise - his daily is a well-loaded F01 740d!

I looked at them a couple of months ago and I could get a really well spec'd one for not much more than the PX on my GT, but I couldn't help thinking that a golf Gti would do the same job with a little more street cred and pace. Also the head up display is a piece of Perspex!

Now they're beginning to grow on me. Seen quite a few around my way and really like them. Shame I couldn't run to the price of one because I reckon they're our ideal car with the kind of usage we do.

I know what you mean about the HUD.

Not that this is about the 2-series in particular, but BMW do offer a retrofit HUD kit, using a similar setup. I do wonder what the take up will be across the models.

SWMBO and I are going to Barons Farnborough this Saturday, they're having a massive sale on (they call it their Platinum Event!). We'll be looking at chopping in SWMBO's E88 118d convertible (2013) for an Active Tourer. But only if they can make the figures work, i.e. no cost to change.

If (and that's a big IF) I can just hand the keys of the 118d convertible back and drive away with a brand new Active Tourer, with no additional cost and the same monthly payment, then why not??? NEW CAR!!!

So we saw the 2 series Active Tourer last weekend at BMW Barons Farnborough. Great car, I wouldn't mind having one for SWMBO's daily use (we have a dog). But sadly the figures didn't work out, so we didn't get one.

I read somewhere that there is now an Active Tourer PHEV (plug-in hybrid). It would be perfect for SWMBO cos most of her daily trips are 2 - 3 miles each way.

Just bought a 218i M Sport on Wednesday , they are well spec d cars , standard satnav , sports leather seats , dual climate , etc . Drives very well for a 1.5 twin scroll turbo no lag , drove back from London 316 miles averaged 46.5 mpg with a lot of slow moving road work sections .
I bought it for my son to learn to drive with as the insurance is fairly reasonable compared with a 1.0 fiesta or corsa which were both dismal to drive . Looked at a Golf 1.0tfsi 110 se a bit sluggish and an Audi A1 a lot too small , A3 was simply too expensive and not much bigger .
We also have the 220d xdrive M Sport Gran tourer which is a great 7 seater and a Porsche Boxster just need a 4 seater and we have the set !
I would highly recommend the Active tourer , great driving position , plenty of room and boot space , great kit as standard on the M Sport and good mpg , fit and finish is very good and fairly rare on the roads . Only thing is they are colour specific so some don't look great in darker colours ( my view only ) both ours are white which really suits them especially with the M Sport kit and the 18" alloys .

They do look good, I wonder why they are not more popular (HUD aside!)

Not much in the picture to give it away, but looks like it could be Clarach Bay
