    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any experience of a random overnight settling of the rear? On opening the car, the suspension comes back up to level. Not sure if it is the cold or some sensor but really strange.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Thanks,

    David

Sounds like a leak somewhere in the system, most likely in the air spring units but could be pipe related.....when you unlock the car the pump most likely starts up and restores the level.

    Thanks The_Master,
That's what I am thinking; hopefully not the bags themselves. :-o I wonder whether BMW will try and claim them as a maintenance item when it comes to their warranty...

    Cheers,

    David

I think others have claimed under the warranty for the air bags and BMW have paid up, these issues are not always easy to diagnose, easier if you have access to a ramp, the splits in the bags are not always obvious...If under warranty I'd get it booked in

Thanks for the intel.. It's booked in for Thursday to have a diagnostic so I'll see how we get on and if they won't cough up probably have to look at an Indy. It's only done 53k miles so it's not exactly high mileage.

If it's under warranty with BMW I'm 99.9% sure they will pay up......

So both airbags leaking and are being replaced. Luckily we have a warranty so its just the excess to pay on the work.
