What to do when your bored with the car, but........
you don't normally keep them more than 3 years and its now 6 yrs old
you like the car, but bored with it,
can't justify the expense of changing it
its only got 40k on it, just run in.

    the answer................
Have a visit from Simon at emaps, oh yes, that's the engine sorted,

    and ........

    wrap it....

    That is bleeping fantastic.

I really don’t know which way to spend my money.... tinted windows and a paint correction, go faster engine electrics (and insurance) or take my money and make my car sound like a moving festival... choices

if the car is approved used and has the 12 months BMW warranty l would avoid mapping and tuning mods untill after the warranty has expired as they could use that as a way of voiding the warrant if you ever needed to have any warranty work done

I am leaning more towards getting the audio sorted, the sound quality is utter crap and the increase in power from my 116d will make me giggle for at least another 6 months

    What skill! (y)

Just to be sure, is that your car before and after and starring in the video?

What’s the ‘life expectancy’ of the wrapping?

Great idea. I’ve just had my wheels refurbed and waiting for towbar fitting as a way of exciting me and making the car more relevant.

I’m considering a visit to AudioFile for the Macan for an audio makeover & upgraded satnav/headunit/Apple CarPlay to modernise it rather than the expense of changing.

Looks fantastic, that has come out really well and lovely colour.

A good few avenues to go down once you start getting that itch to scratch looking at a new vehicle.

Yep. Going from strength to strength. Gary’s just done an extension to the workshop. Downside is I think the waiting list is 12wks+.

I wish I hadn’t seen this link, I now have an itch to scratch!

I figure if I keep the X5 for a while longer, system 2 or 3 might be worth an investment.

Has anyone had any of these installs done?

Yes, I had a system 2 plus in the E70 X5. It was phenomenal. Would’ve taken it back for the subs upgrade had I not have had to sell the car to finance a house purchase.

    Enquiry logged

I’ll have to do my man maths in my head and if her in doors asks, think of a price that sounds reasonable.

It’s a good 3.5hrs 400 round trip to travel so ideally needs to be an overnighted which complicates it a little

Looks great Ian (y) , Am in much the same position myself at 6 years old with only 31K miles on the clock , but I m not bored with the car as yet and it s just too good a car with too high a spec to change just for the sake of a change . What increase in performance did you get with the Map ? That s something I ve thought about myself but never got round to investigating fully .

I can confirm it is my car in all videos/photo's, wrap is guaranteed for 2 years, with 5 to 7 years lifespan if looked after, I should get more as car is garaged and barely does 6/8k a year.
I went for full colour change wrap rather than just external 'what you can see'

Hi Murray, I know the feeling, with all the toys, heads up etc, etc, I just didn't want to change it, after the map the car just keeps pulling, such a marked difference. now running at about 380 hp & 500 torqs. i used emaps, simon used to be on the old land and comes to you.
im now in love with the car all over again.

Excellent way of re-loving the car. Total change in looks and drive ability. I’d imagine the combined cost was a whole lot cheaper that changing the car.
Looks great in that blue, matches the interior dash trim perfectly.
If I could keep a car longer than two years I’d do the same! Maybe the current F32 will be the one.... Get the MPPK power/exhaust upgrade when I start feeling a bit bored with the car.
