Yesterday while going out for my daily walk I noticed what appeared to be a bleb on the sidewall of my FOS tyre.
I rang the roadside assistance number, explained the issue and stressed it was not an emergency, the car was safe on my drive but I did need it for a 600 mile round trip starting on Monday.
The car was collected within the hour and taken to my local Coopers.
The guy at Coopers rang an hour or so later to confirm receipt of car and discuss issue. I pointed out I had the tyre insurance and he said he would try and get it back to me today. He also mentioned the brake fluid needed changing ( was due to be done 2 weeks ago but was cancelled when everything was shutdown) he offered to do this while car is in workshop.
None of this really important in current climate but thought it was worth a thumbs up for BMW and Coopers . This will be 3rd tyre and 1 wheel refurb on this policy so safe to say it has paid for itself.
    Stay safe everyone.

I had that policy on the Macan, the previous owner bought it when new, but it was transferable. All the tyres on the car are original (17k miles) with equal wear, and judging by the condition of the rest of the car I would say its never seen a curb. So I don't think there has been one single claim on the wheel insurance in my case, its now over three years old so does not apply any more.

I guess you win some, you lose some. Good to see some positive feedback though.

I looked at it on the X5.... for the wife, but couldn’t stand the thought of the repair fellow at my house every other week, re dressing the front left allloy... again....!!!
It’s just cheaper to buy a new wheel when you come ready to sell...
