well if the weather allows i will be taking the winter wheels off for the second time this year, the newly refurbished wheel is back and during the wheel change was going to give the arches a good clean

looking at the net one detailer said the best way to clean carpet arches was to hoover them and i said to the missus if the neighbours saw me outside hoovering the wheel arches of my car they would have me locked up

i regularly get comments like if you wash that car anymore you will wash the colour off, so just think what they would say i f they saw me hoovering the wheel arches

I've never had crud on the wheel arch carpets that a good pressure wash can't remove. They live a hard life so nothing wrong giving them a good soaking.

yes that is what mine will get, citrus pre wash and a good jet wash I just thought it was funny that anybody would contemplate hoovering the arches of their car

I have seen plenty of people jet washing the door jambs of a car and that is something i have never been brave enough to try as i would probably end up soaking the inside of the car and the seats

i wonder what they are dong with their cars to get them so dirty they need to jet wash the door cards

well the summer wheels are back on for the second time this year

i did fit them last week of march and then went and kerbed one the week after i put them on so i put the winters back on whilst i had the kerbed alloy repaired

even after being on the car for 500 miles on the car the wheels had a good coating of brake dust so a good clean and an aplication of fall out remover and we were good to go

i gave the arches and the brake calipers a good clean and then fitted the summer wheels so we are now right for the summer, just got to clean the winters before put them back in storage

Nicely done. I’ve not resorted to taking the wheels off to clean them yet, but I fear it isn’t far away!

having winters and summers on different alloys means that the wheels are off the car on a fairly regular basis so it is easy to keep them clean inside and out

    Winter wheels

    IMG_3001.jpg

I got my winter wheels secondhand on E Bay from a seller in Germany, i manged to get a full set of 19 inch alloys with tyres with 7 mm all around delivered to the UK for around £650.00 which was a bargain

when i took the wheel that i had kerbed in for refurb the guy that was doing it complemented me on how clean the wheel was and asked if i had cleaned it before dropping it off for him to work on

i guess i just like clean and shiny wheels, it just bugs me that they get dirty so quickly
