My old 6 series would open/close the roof, windows and mirrors by holding down the lock/unlock on the fob.
The 435i that i purchased didn't do this, upon inquiring with BMW, this is now incorporated in the Comfort Access package which cannot be retro fitted or 'coded' into the car. :(
After some research i came across this :-

Duly purchased and installed in less than 10 mins, easily connected to laptop and desired functions set up.
Works brilliantly, it can even be 'deactivated' if car goes to dealership.
Am now a happy bunny again.:)

How does the cost compare with adding comfort access from the factory?

A fair bit cheaper i should think @kleynie , but I bought the car from the dealership as demo.

I had the Smart Top module on an SLK so knowing how good they are, it was the first thing I added to my 4 Series. As you said, 10 mins to fit and up & running. The same job on the SLK took 3 hours and a proper dismantling job! so this was a doddle (y)

You don't want a car with Comfort Access as these are the ones that are easily stolen.

    Nice modification!

I know this is an old thread, but anyone know where the smart top is installed in the 4 series? I had one in my slk and it was quite buried away, but people are talking about 10 minutes to install on here?

It plugs in in the boot. Easiest install ever. I’m at work at minute but can photo when I Home. Comes with instructions and video on their website. Easy.

Fantastic, thanks - in my SLK I had to take out the whole of the rear bulkhead panelling to get at where it needed to plug in - it wasn't the worst install in the world, but it sure wasn't 10 minutes either!

Thanks for the information, I'll get one on order

Yes as you can see from an earlier post above, I used to have an SLK and fitted it to that. As you said, had to remove the rear panel to fit and it was a very confined space, taking about 3 hours. In my 4 series, it takes less than 10 minutes. In fact, whenever I take the car to the dealers, it's as easy to remove it as it is to disable it from the function screen so I just take it out. It really is a doddle

Perfect - I put an order in this morning, so hopefully will get here quick. Expensive little module in some ways, but I loved it on the SLK and immediately missed it on the BMW. Has anyone set the moving closure speed higher? I didn’t in the Mercedes out of fear of bending the roof mechanism

I have mine set to the maximum 40 km/h (25mph). I had it set at the max in the SLK too, but in both instances I apply caution and have probably never opened at the top end speed.
