Saw a link to that on f30post last week. Looks like it could be an avensis or mondeo. If this is the design going forward I think bmw are losing their way. The back end especially looks misplaced.
They need to sack the people in the design section responsible for grills. It's surprising how one single component can completely ruin the styling of a car.
Personally I see nothing wrong with that grille. It makes me wonder wether the 'target group' for BMW is or has become different over recent years, although I actually doubt that. Also, is BMW's market share actually getting smaller? Perhaps the older generation of BMW owners (to which I belong myself) just can't get used to certain design changes or indeed trends?
Imo, all the 'chrome' interior highlights make the place look fussy. How much time does anyone spend gazing lovingly down into the footwell, for example?
I get the 4 door coupe thing, all marques are going that way in either saloon or SUV, previously branded the GT aka 3 series GT The grilles are balanced but the chrome window surround spoils it - for me!
Whilst I find this relatively inoffensive (even the grilles seem to work well on this one) I'm struggling to see where it fits into the ever increasing range of cars. I still find it extraordinary that they can cater for virtually every car buyer's choice and yet still refuse to make an M3 Touring. I really can't get my head around that.
Isn't that where you're supposed to look when you're not Twitfacing on your phone? I don't understand why they keep putting a big window at the front.
One of the deciding factors for me getting my current M235i is that it was a 2 door coupe. If I wanted a 4 door I would have bought a 3 series or an Audi S3 saloon. Whilst it has some nice touches (and I could persuade myself to live with the grills, eventually) and do really like the virtual dash, I don't need or want the 4 doors.
