Hello! I am new to this forum and would welcome any assistance I can get on my E53 restoration project!

The problem (well one of) I have is that the lower band of the LED display on the instrument cluster is extremely dim. I have had the problem before with missing pixels but it was still readable. Then it all just seemed to disappear. However, if I shine a torch on the pixels I can read the messages so the “system” is sending the right messages to the display but for whatever reason they are no longer visible without a torch/ bright light. I did read a thread about a photoelectric cell under the oil pressure warning light but this seems different in the sense that the LEDs are not readable night or day and what ever sensor that turns on the headlights with the light switch set to auto is working.

your assistance would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks Andrew
