Hi, I have recently bought an E90 318i and wanted to put some better, brighter and whiter dipped and main beam light bulbs in. There are so many types and I am struggling. They are currently the H7 type. I don't want to complicate things so would rather go for straight forward swaps. Don't know whether to stick with halogen or go for LED. Can anybody please help me on this or even post a link where I can get them from. Thank you

H7 will be your dipped and high beam bulbs (2x per headlight)

If you have halogen lamps the corona rings will be lit by something like this,

If you had xenon they'd be H8 bulbs for the rings

OK thanks for your reply. Do you know which manufacturer do the brightest H7s?

    Try Google!

Be aware that some very bright halogen lamps have relatively short lives, and can be fragile - eg don't like bumpy roads. LED options seem to cost and arm and a leg.

Thank you... Tried googling it but think it's going to have to be a Trip to Halford or something like that. Know what you are saying about the life span, don't want heat recking my lampholders or having problematic led lights. The glass on my front lights I have had a light tint put on the glass. Good advice, thank you.

Thank you. I clicked on the links and had a read. The information was very useful and I will be going for the Philips Racing Vision. Thanks for your post, it has saved me hours on research.
