Ha. Thanks for the heads up, and for the cost (£125) it’s amazing.
Auto box changes up a little earlier now, on a sensible longer drive I can see the mpg going up a little.
Easy install, ten minutes and that was with me being uber careful.

Neatly situated in the corner of the bay, easily to access for changes settings if needs be.

Normally come with a bag as well but I'm guessing it got destroyed by the previous owner, helps keep it dry that's all. I have mine in a similar position did you get the blanking plug as well?

It came with a cloth bag, the box unit was in that. Wouldn’t be use for keeping dry though.
    Blanking plates? For where?
I got the wiring loom, bag, box and instructions leaflet.

Small blanking plug so you can remove the box but leave the cables in situ. The plug just completes the circuit when the box is missing. In the picture in the small bag next to the unit

Ah, I see what you mean. There are a few for sale on eBay, £5 each.
The bag has a label to say put this on when installing, to protect against damaging the box if tin want to return.

I had a DTUK tuning box on my previous Golf, it worked extremely well - gave 20% extra torque, while also improving fuel consumption. To protect it, I put it in a zip-loc freezer bag and used Velcro strips to attach it to the air filter housing.

I’ve done a few miles since fitting the box, 200 or so, really feeling the difference. Power coming on and keeping going through the rev range. Slightly addictive.....

The occasional odd feeling from the auto box, when pressing the throttle in auto mode it feels slight strained. Feels like it should drop down but doesn’t, only briefly, then the power comes in. Possibly the extra low down torque causing an issue with the box. If using manual changes or in sport mode no problems.

Won’t bother with an economy calculation this tank as I know it will be low.....

Inappropriate speed comes up rather quickly!

Will see if the ‘box learns the new power output, and then think about tweaking the settings.

A week+ and five hundred miles into using the box and all seems good. Filled up yesterday and managed 43.9mpg on the tank, not the lowest I’ve had out of the car, considering I’ve been “testing” the output I’m happy with that. It was a tank of Tesco diesel, have gone back to Shell so more of a comparable measure on this tank.
I have a week of commuting on the motorway networks, so will see how regular driving is affected by the box.

    Update:
Running an economy tankful this week, 400 miles in and half a tank used so far. Trip computer is saying 58mpg, will check when refilling as I know this is usually approx 8% overly positive. With the box attached this may be exaggerated even more, shall see.

I think the car sounds slightly more “diesely” than before. This has been noted on a few other forums as well, Porsche Macan owners and the like. Possibly being overly sensitive with my ears, but I’m growing it convinced that it does. Will keep and ear open.

Can’t resist the odd take off, really has given the car a nice boost, so to speak.

After a reasonably sedate tank full I’ve managed 603 miles, averaging 48.7mpg. I’ve refilled with Shell Ultimax/Shell+ derv, whatever they call it these days. Just a test to see what difference this makes, but at the price it had better be a miracle fuel for me to consider using it again!

The car said 54.5mpg, wee bit optimistic. My maths isn’t good enough to work out the % differential between the computer and the actual.
