Has anyone had a problem with their EGR value on a 3 series diesel?
Although others have had issues. Age of your car? Subject to a recall?
79K on my 320d (last 18K of my driving) and no issues to report.
I never had a problem on my e61 20d, but my x3 30d has had a recall to replace it.
I had a recall to replace the EGR cooler last year. Now my EGR valve is stuck open. Does the value have anything to do with the cooler do you know?
Again, what's the age of your car? M47/57 diesel engines' egr valves would tend to foul up and if not cleaned they could be stuck open. The later n47/57 engines have a more reliable design.
We're willing to help, but you have to provide some information.
B47 has loads of issues with the EGR, fail far too early.
Nothing to do with getting gunked up, they just fail.
Usually can tell as there is a slight hesitation when you put your foot on the gas as you pull away from cruising.
