Glad you made it home safely after an extra few days. The CLA is one of the latest high mileage EVs and some versions have an official range over 400 miles. To me that isnt the be all as my bladder wont do 400 miles between stops - and speed of recharging is then important, how much can it add whilst I "stretch my legs", check the dog, check my phone. With the latest high powered chargers and cars that will charge quickly (at least at the lower end of the battery), that works great for me... So to answer your question - I would and I did and I probably will again (and my i5 is neither the longest range or the fastest charger - but both are good enough and better than the iPace - especially charging speed)
Whilst it was good I wouldn't consider a CLA (of any engine type) - it's no BMW - but out of interest I've just been looking up the specs. The WLTP is showing 483 miles and so a real world 400 miles seems feasible. Charging 20% to 80% shows as 22mins so it does seem quick so the last thing for me would be the charging infrastructure which as I have a home charger and a PHEV I haven't tested recently. It appears to be improving but perhaps you can advise if this is the case.
It does still depend a bit where you go - i understand parts of scotland and wales are crap but for me and the routes I do I have zero problems these days... when i first got the Jag I used to avoid the M1 chargers in case they were busy but now I just stop where i get fastest charge / best price / best facilities.
