Looks like I am keeping the car until September 2019. The 3 yr BMW warranty ends this September. Looking ahead what extended warranty to go for BMW or one of the many out there. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am a fan of the BMW warranty and have just taken out the Comprehensive Insured Warranty with emergency service

I dont think any of the aftermarket warranties can get anywhere near the cover that BMW insured warranty provides

that is a previous thread on the subject that will give lots of good reading and a good indication of views on the BMW offering

There is only one warranty I’m afraid. Others just don’t stack up.

BMW Warranty for me only on mine.

Had about £7k worth of repairs in the 18 months I have had the car so a no brainer.

    Cheers

I rate the extended warranty, add the emergency cover and it is as coordinated (one phone call) as it can be. Peace of mind and pretty much fixes the running costs. Recovery service and hire cars, an important part of it for me.

I was just watching a program this morning about the A1 and a BMW 330D touring was hit in the rear and shunted across the roundabout, a call to BMW emergency service saw the car recovered and taken to a local BMW dealership, the diver was shaken up and did not want to continue their journey by driving so BMW emergency service arranged a taxi to the local station and then onward travel by train and taxi to the drivers home address

so i their moment of need looks like BMW emergency service came through for he driver

I too am a fan of the BMW insured warranty. Had it on my wife's 330d MSport touring for the last 5 years with a £100 excess and it has given real piece of mind.

no brainer. BMW comprehensive which also gives you breakdown cover, like no other.
Cost will be dependant on mileage and type of vehicle. I laid £522 (with £100 excess) in October 2017 on the X30d with 29k miles. Fully intend to renew in October

BMW one - and make sure you renew it BEFORE it expires else the price goes up - even a day and it goes up.

I fell foul of that one over the Easter bank holiday weekend, i was away in Scotland and thought i will do it when i get back but that was the day after my three year warranty had expired and the price had jumped by £200.00 a year but a quick phone call and they did it at the lower price for me so i guess i was lucky

    but dont get caught out
