Had a look at a proto Grenadier this morning. It really does look like a slightly updated proper Defender. Suspension is coil sprung beams front and rear. Lovely refined 6 cyl Bimmer petrol and ZF 8 sp auto. Nice driving position and front seat space. Lots of switches and gadgets. Rear seat space will be familiar to anyone who has spent time on the back of a 110". Lots to like. Big question is, will it sell?
It will all depend on price, and how it’s perceived as a viable and reliable vehicle and an alternative to the Land Rover and Toyota products, personally I wouldn’t have another Land Rover product, unless it was a older classic one, so if was down to the Land cruiser or the grenadier, then I’d have a look, but probably go with the Toyota at the present time, until the grenadier has got some history behind it. Think I’ll stick with my x5 at present or maybe move to a 5 series touring next year.
I had to Google it, certainly looks an interesting proposition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Land Rover clone kit car, built in France? No thanks. And they've only got 3 UK dealers based in Somerset, Shropshire and Wiltshire.
Look at the pricing of the 90’s & 110’s Their an iconic following, I think they will do very well, on looks alone The Mercedes G wagon sells surprisingly well, the burble alone is a strong selling point let alone the slab siding and box shape with the aerodynamic properties of a brick!
