Having experienced the condensation issue in previous years with the onset of winter i followed a recommendation i'd read elsewhere and put some silica gel beads in each of the headlight enclosures.

This has completely eliminated the problem this time. A cheap fix for less than £2 although i did put some insulation tape around each gel box to ensure they didn't come apart and deposit the beads inside headlight enclosures.

    Got mine from here:

    Great tip
I’m guessing you’d have to change them out or could they just be left....

Obviously depends how much condensation it has to absorb, some headlights seem more prone than others. There are plenty of gel beads so hopefully just pop the boxes in late autumn and take them out in the spring. Only takes a minute to put them in.

Good tip @Adie , and once you remove them in spring time, you can regenerate the silica gel by leaving in a warm ( not hot) oven for a while, which will remove any moisture they have absorbed. I use packs of the stuff to protect my cameras and lenses.

I noticed a slight build up of condensation in my headlights so removed the boxes containing the gel beads.

The beads are now pink, originally they were blue when i put the boxes in a year ago. Put them in the oven on a low heat and they're back to blue again.

Just need to put them back in the headlight enclosures ready for another year condensation free :)

They just sit on the base of the enclosure, i try to position them so they can't move too much. They're not visible from the outside.
