A few weeks ago I purchased a new key for my car, as I only had one key. I went over to the BMW dealer, who programmed the new key, no problems with that, but when I got home, I discovered that the original key, which had worked perfectly OK, would no longer operate the remote locking.....

I am trying to avoid a 50 mile round trip to the dealer again - is there anything that I could do myself to get the original key working the remote locking once more??

    Any suggestions very welcome!!

May I wish you all a vert Merry Christmas!!

    Thanks Rich

It’s because both have to be done together or it loses the old one. From memory Open your drivers window, put it in ignition, ignition position 1 then off remove the key hold unlock and press lock 3 times and release, the locks should lock and unlock then do the same button press for the second key.
