Can I ask how did that chip repair turn out? Is that Hammerite stuff any good? I need to get some new rust-killer and was thinking of trying it.
Hi. I can’t fault the Hammerite rust product to be fair. I’ve used it before, had a weird chip on the roof of a previous car that had been left too long. Had the car for a year or so later and there was no further sign of bubbling or rust. The BMW touch up paint wasn’t great, possibly an older pack, was slightly thick. Applied with a tiny model brush and seems ok. Did a few chips on the bonnet at the same time.
Thanks for that - I'll get some. I agree about the BMW touch-up paint - I've had a few over the years and always had to thin them a bit. I now prefer to use a Chipex kit. I hardly ever use the brush provided in the touch-up paint sticks - much prefer to use a toothpick or a really small size '0' Humbrol or Schuller model brush - about the size for painting the pupils on the eyes of a 2cm high pilot in an Airfix model.
It s forgivable to come home from holiday with a dirty car , but it s just not right setting of on holiday with it dirty , it s just not the correct order of things . . Good to see you ve got your priorities right , and the car looks great .
