Has anybody actually had any track tuition in their cars? I'm wondering how to go about it using my own car and where etc? Any pointers are much appreciated.

Had a free day at Porsche track at the side of silverstone, both in a Panamera and 911.
Was very good, but wouldn't say it advanced me any.

Since then, both me and biz partner have this http://www.porsche.com/silverstone/en/experience/psds/precision/ free with a 911 supplied as a good will gesture for some issues we have both had.

    Cant wait.

We will probably go for the Performance course eventually, and perhaps even the master (notice no price on the web!!).

I wouldn't use my own car if I was planning on being on the edge of my own abilities, to many people have ended up in walls trying to follow other cars that perhaps have a driver that is considerably better. Different if you have an instructor as they would not let you get anywhere near the edge.

If i had a track car thats a different matter. And looks like my son might be heading down that line soon. maybe a 330i. :):)

I've just come back from the Nurburgring and there are a lot of guys there running E36 328i's. Looks to be a very capable car and they were keeping up and overtaking a lot of very fast motors.

Get someone to sit in the car and have some one to one tuition. Then, practice, practice, and more practice. I'm in my fifth season of racing and still have to practice and have tuition.

I had tuition at the Ring from the chap who used to test Skylines on the Ring for Nissan. Learnt a lot.

    Cheers
