I realise they are a different set up to later led lights.. just thought I’d ask :)

Does look an excellent example of the model, and a petrol at that.(y)

We love running reports on here, so will appreciate your views (good and bad), as you put on the miles.

    BTW, welcome to the forum.

My 2009 5 series had the same angel eyes and the orange colour used to bug me even though i never ever saw them but i never looked at changing them, i am sure somebody will be along soon with a suggestion for possible upgrade

A very nice car, always had a soft spot for these

Re the lights, there’s a multitude of options, a search on google should point you towards cree 20w upgrade, that shall brighten things up and loose the yellow, however they will never be ice bright as the angel ring reflects the light as opposed to being a ring of led,
I’m not suggesting these lights are the best nor am I suggesting to get these, more to provide a visual comparison of what’s possible (I know it’s an E60)

There is an option of cutting your lights open and installing new rings, very involving though....

The 630 has just replaced...wait for it... a Peugeot 308 HDi Sport! :boxedin: So it’s quite a step up in quality, and I wanted to avoid another diesel tbh. My last E39 523i had a beautiful smooth engine..I wanted that again.
Will definitely keep updated as the miles go on.

Great post, excellent..just the information I was after. I had read about splitting the lights, replacing the rings etc.. that’s not really an option tbh. I think I’ll try the upgraded bulbs as suggested. Thanks, much appreciated :thumright:

    Welcome.
On my E60 I changed the lights, was awhile ago.
Was fairly easy if not a bit tight on the back of your hands as theres not much room.
I got of ebay for around £35 I think, but no link now.

Made a massive difference to go white, like new cars.
Yellow tends to look dated these days.

That looks a great example :)
My boss bought a 650i new when they first came out and loved it so much he kept it for 7 years (he normally keeps his cars about 6 months!)
I do like the look of the 6 but then I'm biased.. Still cannot get away with the new 6GT though..

Cheers Rich, I am really pleased with it.. I looked at 4 others before purchasing this one. The full main dealer service history and condition won me over.. :)
Totally agree, my plan was to get an E60.....but the more I looked at the 6 series, the more I thought it looked so much better. Rarer too... I’ve not seen another in the week I’ve owned mine. With just 73k I’ll be keeping her for quite some time. :)
