I saw these over the weekend and I've got to admit they left me a bit cold. The interior is definitely a step though but it needed to be as it's really showing its age and is just incoherent. as you say, more evolution than revolution.

Be interesting to see what the Touring looks like. I've spent 8 years in a 3 Series Touring and I'm a bit exasperated by them really. The 'Touring' moniker is an odd one as it's not really set up to be a touring car but just another one of those titling idiosyncrasies so that it's not called an estate. As people know, I take mine on 3000+ mile European jaunts and the fact that you can't switch the lights to a LHD set-up just irks me likewise ventilated seats. A cost option on 5 Series and up but not available on the 3er. Why not? My arse is no less desirous of a cooling breeze than those in more expensive cars. Storage space is ropey too, the glovebox is puny, I can barely get a bag of Jelly Babies in it. The interior, in general, is functional - just. It's just not an inspiring place to sit and has zero wow factor so thank God they've revamped it so it no longer looks like a stickle brick relative of the 5 Series. Many have also grumbled about the handling and it's true that on the xDrive the excitement has gone but it never really bothered me that much and I'm really interested to know how the new one will stack up. Lastly, will they finally build a car to rival the RS4 and C63? I'm not holding my breath..

The oversized grille looks to Americanised to me. The interior is nice though. The rear lights look somewhat Audi inspired!

It a No from me , interior may be an improvement but that front end/grill is horrible and cleaning it would be a nightmare , nor would want to see it every time I open my garage door .

It's weird though, isn't it? The rear is clean and minimalist and yet the front looks like it belongs to a different car.

Almost seems as if they've outsourced the front end styling to Lexus =(

I kind of like it, but I'll reserve judgment until I see the touring.
Pictures are okay up to a point but we won't really know until we see it in the metal for ourselves.

    Kindest Regards
    Carl.

Have started saving, touring in grey with a 6 pot petrol.:)

Shame the digital dash doesn't show the full satnav like in the Audi, which does look good.

Auto centring wheels caps.... how long before they go wrong?

iDrive display looks nice and think they said is wider than current one.

Like others have said, not sure about the front grill.

Center console looks good, iDrive control looks a bit thinner and maybe wider, hopefully not too fiddly to use.

Oh no that's going to play havoc with me.
I like my caps in line with the valve and locking wheel nut.
This could be a deal breaker for me!:)

    Kindest Regards
    Carl.

Seems to be a competition between BMW and Audi for who can make the grille the largest these days. Have you seen the new A8 & A6?

I have to say that, from a styling point of view, I don't like it at all - either the front end, rear end or interior. :redcard:
What is it about huge grills? :frustrated: IMO they ruin the sleek lines of the front end, and that stunted 'duck tail', stuck out of the top of the boot lid, plus the huge rear lights, just looks wrong. I'm also not a fan of the interior dash area - all that silver looks cheap and tacky, and the small switches in the centre console area look cheap. It just looks to me as though BMW have "Americanised" the whole car. Of course that's only based on the photos online, In the flesh it may look better, but I doubt it.

Why ruin something that looks as good as this -

Lets be honest, the F30 looks fabulous
I'm not sold on those notches in the headlights on the G20, but I love a good bonnet crease line (like my E91). I've seen videos of the G20 on the road and it looks much better than these still pics.
I'll let you know when one lands here.

The grill looks like the new Kia Stinger, which incidentally is a much nicer looking car and £35k buys a top end one new.
