    Hi,

Just purchased an 2016 F10 535D on Friday... Wow what a difference from my old car! Was after some advice on upgrades i could do? Nothing too costly. Just ordered a Gloss black grille from BMW Cotswold.

The current spec is as follows:
    Space Grey (I think)
    Shadowline trims
    Standard Sport seats
    Pro Nav
    HUD
    Comfort Windscreen
    Heated steering Wheel
    M Sport plus Package
Variable Damper Control- Can find the option to adjust this though.

Would love to be able to program the HUD to include the indicator signals.

    Thanks In Advanced

I got rid of my 2015 535d in June, great engine. I also had HUD and wondered about the indicators, it can be done with a dongle from one of the tuning companies like bimmertec. The dampers are altered by the switch next to the gear lever, you should have comfort, sport and sport plus if it has VDC.

    Welcome and good luck

Good cars... I changed from an E91 to my F11. (y)

For VDC, do you mean you 'can't' find the option to adjust? Simply done on the 'modes' toggle switch. If you have VDC you will have Comfort + as an option on the modes, as well as Comfort, (which all models have). You should also have the option on the iDrive screen (as you toggle to Sport) to set Chassis or Drivetrain, or both. There is also a Sport menu, an alternative way to select the Sport options.

    So what i
Does that mean that on the 5ers there are 5 settings on the 'Driver Experience' toggle switch?

or is that only with VDC?

What is the difference in 'feel' between Comfort and Comfort + ?

    I don't have Comfort + on my 330D with Adaptive Suspension - S2VFA

What I have is Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Sport +

I had some difficulty in understanding the difference between VDC and Adaptive - but I read a very clear explanation on another forum by a chap called 'Highland Pete' - very helpful. :D

Thanks for this, yes I do have comfort +, I thought there may be another option to adjust manually though for each ‘profile’.

The black kidney grills were delivered this morning, tried to replace them but no avail. Will look through the forums over the weekend to find a ‘how to guide’.

also attached some photos, not the best as weather is terrible and I was in a rush.

Congrats - a very nice machine.

As for options you should see on the i-Drive the option to 'configure' the settings for at least some of them as you just after you select using the toggle switch.

As Peter said, it's for example possible to select Chassis / Drive-Train / on both for the Sport position.

On my car selecting drive-train means delayed upward gear changes and the car almost never selects top gear due to the UK 70mph limit.

The message is only on the screen for a few moments, but can also be found under 'settings'

Yeah, that 'Highland Pete' does get about, it seems. :D

The first F10/11 builds (like mine) didn't have Eco-Pro. VDC had three base settings, "Comfort, Normal and Sport", additionally Sport+ with DTC activation. When Eco-Pro was introduced, November 2011, from memory, (thankfully mine just missed it by a couple of months, but does have the uprated starter motor (y)), the settings changed to Eco-Pro, Comfort+, Comfort, Sport, Sport+. The suspension still with the three base settings. Adaptive Drive adds the ARS function with two base settings, one working with the two Comfort modes the other with the two Sport modes.

As has been posted you have the Sport selection options, Chassis and Drivetraion. The F10 groupings with VDC; 'Chassis' includes steering and suspension, 'Drivetrain' is transmission and throttle.

Very smart looking machine. Space Grey is a top colour, had that in a previous E92.
Have always had a hankering for an F series, something about the road presence.

Definitely pleased with the colour, especially the way it looks with the shadow line trim. The gloss black on the bumper and the gloss black exhaust tips :)

Agree black works well with Space Grey. Was my first choice of colour for the 'wagon'. Spec' I was looking for came up in Sophisto Grey, too dark for the black to be a contrast. Hardly notice the M black-shadow rear diffuser. Something had to give. :(
