A first time BMW owner here having moved over from VAG (last 4 cars that is). Traded in my Scirocco R for a one year old BMW X2 2.0 Sdrive M Sport in Mineral Grey just before the UK went into lockdown so haven't really had chance to run it in as it were. Might get some photo's up once I can get it off my drive!

Welcome aboard, Crofter :wavey: Pics don't have to be 'arty' so ones on your drive will keep us happy in the meantime. :thumleft:

Very nice - look forward to hearing your comments once you're able to have a decent drive in it.

Very different to a Scirocco that's for sure. :D

Nice, similar colour to my Macan, which is also nice for an SUV (@Mieke)

I looked at the X2 before I bought the Macan, but I wasn’t sure about the seats, but I did have a 5 series before, so maybe I was just expecting too much.

I must admit that if I was going to change to an SUV, then the Macan would be high on the list, purely based on styling.
But I have been giving Porker dealers a wide berth, for fear of temptation. I suspect that a road test would be fatal - no turning back.

I've strayed into the local Porsche dealership a couple of times this year BUT always ensure I do not have my driving licence with me to avoid that temptation!

Really like the X2 think it looks like a great choice if you don't need a big bulky SUV which are hard to park but want something with a raised driving position.
Much nicer looking than say an Audi Q2 which has to be one of the biggest yawn fests on the styling front.

Agree with that, the X2 is a much better package than the Q2, and nicer looking.

I have to agree. Nice car. What colour is that? Mineral Grey?
My wife and I have been looking at dropping back to one car instead of the current 2. At the ripe old age of 77, we are now at the point where we feel we must change to a single set of wheels. She has a Polo and I have an Audi Q5. The Polo is not inspiring enough for me to have it as the main car and wifey does not like driving the Q5. With that in mind ever since the start of the lockdown, I have been carrying out a lot of research and have considered a new 2020 X1 xDrive 2.0i M Sport or the X2.

Yes it's Mineral Grey. Coming from the Scirocco I was looking for something out of the ordinary that was a tad higher in ride height but had the looks of a sporty coupe. I didn't want a full blown SUV (no real need) and couldn't stomach anything that had the hallmarks of a Postman Pat Van! I did look at the Audi Q2/Q3, VW T-Roc/Tiguan (too similar to the Scirocco inside), the Range Rover Evoque (yuk) and some of the far eastern offerings but the X2 just caught my eye as fitting that bill. Never having had a BMW before seemed like a change being as good as a rest they say. So far no regrets.

I am sure you will enjoy it after we are all able to get out and about. To follow on from my previous comments we are inching our way to purchasing a new 2020 BMW X1 Xdrive 2.0i M Sport. It all looks promising, so watch this space!
