Afternoon all, just joined, I have a 2003 E46 330ci Convertible in silver 104K miles, had it since 2013 when it had 64K, been doing lots of maintenance on her since then,
    1) Complete Cooling system refurb,
    2) Replace power steering pump (it went on holiday with no notice) hard to drive an E46 around roundabouts with no PS
    3) Disa valve rebuild
    4) OFHG about to be redone
    5) VCG twice
    6) CCV replacement
    7) Headlight change to LHD for import to Europe
    8) Rear wheel bearings replaced (both sides)
    9) Front and rear discs and pads
    10) Rear shoes (hand brake)
    11) Eonon head unit installed for sat nav and rear camera
    12) Annual oil filter, oil, air filter change
    13) Fuel filter
    14) Cabin filter change every 2 years
    15) Rear shocks

    to be done
    1) Vanos refurb, not sure how complicated, will do the usual research and but the bits
    2) 120k service
    3) Repeat number 13, as the fuel filter hasn't been changed for 3 years
    4) Annual service

think that's all i have done over the last 6 years other than drive it mostly with the top down even in the winter at -10 centigrade

    Phil

    Cheers

Based in South of France, got tired of annual trips back for the MOT, so imported and CT (french MOT) every two years.

    Hi, and welcome.

The CT appears to be something of a lottery. I've met quite a few brits who've imported a UK vehicle and had to change the headlights. However, when I imported a car (not the BMW) the guy in charge said, no need, just use a couple of those stickers, so I did. Saved a few Euros.

I was thinking of importing another, but the tax de malus on those cars I'm interested in (petrol suv) is HUGE. And covid19 has put the stoppers on looking anyway.

South of France goes from Atlantic to Italy, so which department?

    Hi Highsided

In department 04, north of Aix en Provence, yes the CT is a lottery, some want a C of C for anything with a UK plate others are happy to take your money, i think the 'tax de malus' is dependant on the value of the vehicle imported, would i do it again, yes but only if it was a LHD and something rare in France
