This has happened twice now, wondering if I need to be concerned or not. On the trip to Cornwall at Easter the digital dash (speedo/rev counter etc) went black, the whole display seemed to switched off for a second. When it came back on it looked like the starting display, all lights/checks etc on. A touch disconcerting at 70mph! This happened again at the weekend, 40mph roadworks on the A38. Everything seems to work as it should, maybe a software update as these are done over the air.
I would very much doubt a software update would apply itself whilst the vehicle is being driven. Sounds like the cluster rebooted. I'd report it as a fault when the car is next with BMW. They can read the fault codes - there will be something logged. Whether the dealer can do anything with the information is another matter!
Not something I have spotted in mine. I have experienced it once or twice in our 2019 3 series though, but just ignored it since it went back to normal after.
If I get chance at the weekend I will take it over to the dealer and let them have a look. Driving a Renault Clio for most of this week….no digital dash in that.
I’ve not had chance to go to the dealer for this, but it hasn’t done to since. Will keep an eye on it.
