They'll sell you an FSC code and a map update but you'll need to provide your VIN.

Bear in mind what they do can be done with Esys and an enet cable. The maps they provide are only the same ones as released by BMW so you wouldn't get anything extra.

They would do what basically I did. Use software to read a particular file on the NBT unit and calculate an FSC code given your VIN and the map version you wish to install.

Again very similar to what I did when I had my F25 X3 xDrive 30d M Sport with NBT. I had a lifetime code and downloaded the latest maps (free) from another site. I used to update my maps twice a year.
After BMW realised what was going on, they put a check code in the maps,so you had to get a new FSC code every two years.
After that BMW dropped the price of map updates and this started to put the clandestine operators out of business.

I did the same as @GunRunner on my previous 320D ED, worked fine no issues but since having my current car, the map updates have been included for free, however mine will run out this year, part of my connected rive has run out as of last month so currently weighing up whether to pay for them or not at the moment, i'm thinking might wait till some discounts come out as i recall there was one last year around black friday or maybe xmas. I used the same site that @GunRunner did, i'd have to find a link to them again as not used them in a while now. Was every easy to great the USB stick & then enter the code form email, worked fine no issues at all and back then was cheaper than BMW by a long way.
