OK, Boomer. And what’s your reason not to change? looks like BMW marketing has ruffled a few feathers after posting "OK, Boomer. And what’s your reason not to change?" on twitter as part of the marketing campaign for the new iX https://twitter.com/BMW/status/1328004840165928961 ' well l must be old and narrow minded
Huh, a mere stripling at that - I can double that and still have some pocket change left..... I'm entitled not to like it.
Porsche seem to have Tay-can (taken) electric cars to a new level and produced something that is absolutely stunning BMW think the new ix is "A the Pinnacle For Luxury Electric Driving. This Isn’t a Mere Evolution. It's Revolution. With An Electric Driving Range Of Over 370 miles. What's Your Reason Not To Change?" my reason not to change is l want a full electric 5 series with a nice full leather interior. not something that looks like this that has an interior cobbled together with bits of plywood and old pop bottles sorry BMW l am not ready for your sort of change
That's why I assume that every other car on the road is being driven by an absolute idiot - probably an valid assumption for at least 5 percent of them. That approach has payed dividends many times over.
It's a shame to see the iX appears to be the best BMW can do. I'm sure BMW's CAD design stylus, is an ugly stick in disguise. As to the Porsche... On a serious note, is this the type of situation we may see repeated with powerful EVs? Loads of torque from 0 rpm. Peter
yes it is a situation we will see repeated we had an old boy around here that always set off by taking his car to around 4000 rpm and then slip the clutch as he crawled away. l always said if his foot slipped off the clutch he would be doing about 60mph just imagine him in a high power EV
I was stood outside Sainsbury’s this afternoon, waiting for the wife to buy some food, a chap got into his grey Taycan. Looked amazing to be fair. Watched him edge out of the spot in reverse, and then edge out into the car park and off. I was holding my breath all the way through the manoeuvre...! Odd thing noticed, silent on reverse, but as it pulled away it made a thrumming engine type noise. Do these have a small engine? Thought they were fully EV.
they are full EV but the one you saw probably had the Taycan electric sport sound option newsroom.porsche.com/en/taycan/sound
