The example they used in "On The Road", Thursday evening, had the sound option. Did sound a bit like a Porsche. Peter
there is some EU law that says an EV must make a noise when reversing and when traveling at low speeds so don't know why the one you saw was quiet in reverse
That's ludicrous - produce a silent propulsion unit and then introduce artificial noise. In today's world of constant ambient noise everywhere, the silence of an electric vehicle is something I would value. Hopefully 'Electric Sport Sound' can be turned OFF?
100% silent in reverse. I was no more than 15 feet away and heard nothing. I think one of our own on here has a shiny new white Taycan, maybe he can update us on the experience.
the EV motors do make some noise but agree trying to make it sound like a Porsche ice is mad and then to pay £500 for the option is even madder
even if it didn't have the fake sport sound option it should have had an AVAS fitted that cant be turned off
Well, that's £300 that I would not be spending. Buying an EV with a V8 artificial soundtrack, is like a Vegan whose favourite meal is vegan steak and chips.
sadly with the advent of the OPF filter or GPF filters on petrol cars active sound is becoming more and more popular l for one would be very happy not to hear any engine noise in the cabin and if it was fake noise it would drive me mad how about an Audi diesel that sounds like a tractor on the outside but sounds like a roaring V8 on the inside
Wonder how long it will take before the Regulators intervene to reduce the maximum torque available from standstill?
Can't help but think the industry has painted itself into a corner, just think of large car parks at mega shopping centres [once the CV pandemic has passed].... [sorry, a bit frivolous but you get the idea ]
yes hundreds of theese going off as everybody reverses out of their space beats supermarket piped music
