My G30 was registered on 31 March 2017 so the 3 year BMW warranty expired on 30 March 2020.

Just before it expired I took out the BMW extended warranty to run from 31st March to provide continuous cover...of course then CV crisis struck.

Today I have received a letter from BMW UK advising that the 3 year manufacturer's warranty has been extended till 30 June 2020 AND as a result they are also pushing back the start of the extended warranty by 3 months and it will now commence on 1st July and run for 12 months from that date instead !

    Nice touch

I wonder they are intending to extend all warrantees for 3 month. Just difficult for BMW as they have no idea if cars parked up or still in use or can they check for use on the inbuilt Comms system

My AUC warranty is up on May 26th, no extension for me. They are happy to relieve me of a rather significant sum of money for the pleasure.

I suspect that it will only apply to new warranties taken out during lockdown. Otherwise it would cost them a fortune. Still, it may be worth a phone call to BMW Allianz to ask the question.
