You shouldn't have any problems with a claim then @Kev2005 (y)

I have the same 19 inch 403-M wheels, but sign of corrosion as yet. The car is garaged normally, so I guess that helps.
I'm now on the extended warranty, which AFAIK does not cover cosmetic issues. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

    HI all,

Just to update, phoned dealer on Wednesday, guy wasn't at his desk so was told he would call me back, no phone call or voicemail.
Phone dealer on Thursday, was told guy was with customers and would leave message for him to call me back, no call or voicemail.
Today, I called and was told he wasn't at his desk so asked if anyone could provide a update as i was promised a call back for the last 2 days an no return call. They looked up my reg and said no reply from BMW and the guy wouldn't call me until they had a reply. They were leaving the guy a message to chase up BMW but I've heard nothing today.

Anyone know how long it takes? I was originally told they should hear back by Wednesday and if not heard by Friday to definitely call hence why I've phoned since Wednesday to see whats happening. Maybe will hear something next week, fingers crossed.

    Thanks

    Kevin

another example of poor customer service from BMW you always hear about the promise of a call back and it never happens, next time you call ask them if you can hold as he never bothers to ring back and you are fed up being messed about

I don’t really understand who they’re waiting for a reply from at BMW, could be a manual authority request or maybe they have to send photos to technical now. Neither should take more than a day really.
What will almost certainly get you a response from the dealer is a call to customer services to chase the issue up.

it shouldn't take 10 days it is a known issue and they must have had hundreds of claims for this and they should be able to make a decision as soon as they see pictures of the wheels

some dealers just drag their feet and need a regular poke the keep them moving which is something that really annoys customers

But this is corrosion and should be covered under the anti perforation warranty (6 years?)

I thought that an anti perforation warranty only covered the bodywork and chassis components. Wasn't aware that the wheels were included?
But it would be good if they are.

ah didn't know there was a 6 year cover, i thought it was covered just under the standard 3 year warranty hence why trying to get it sorted before the warranty runs out next Feb i think.

Does the 6 years reset if I do get 4 new wheels? Am i able to take out any cover if not? The website implies only when buying the car i can take out any allow wheel cover but technically the car isn't new now but the wheels would be. Not that I want to pay more but i'm thinking if i keep the car and the wheels only last 2.5 years it maybe be cheaper than needing to pay out 2k+ for new wheels and fitting etc, if not covered.

    Thanks

    Kev

Any parts replaced under Warranty will only carry the balance of the original warranty, not a fresh one.

The wheels will only be covered under the 3 year manufacturers warranty not the anti corrosion warranty and as slim_boy_fat says, any part replaced under warranty only have the original warranty.
If it happened again in 2.5 years you would just need to get them refurbed not buy new wheels. Lots of places now refurb diamond cut wheels properly and do a very good job of them.

    Thanks @slim_boy_fat @markyboyt

Lets hope I don't need to get the *hopefully* new wheels refurbed as I don't expect that will be cheap :(
